"Let me clarify: I am not a vegan because I “love animals”. Rather, veganism is about justice. It is not a “lifestyle choice”. It is not a “personal preference”. Veganism is not about you or me at all. It is about the fundamental right of nonhumans not to be used, owned, labeled, branded, enslaved, exploited and generally commodified to serve our interests and convenience."

~ Kerry Wyler

"We need to begin showing people that speciesism is as abhorrent and inconsistent as any other prejudice, and that any rational person already holds the principles which should lead them to accept veganism in the first place."

~ Rob Johnson

We exploit the two hours in those it didn't rained and went to our homespot at the school in Rennerod. Simon started to jump on the ping-pong table and I decided to shot with a pocket wizard on the left side, this is what turns out..a nice Left Over down the table.

A woman saltpan worker collects salt into her basket.

Saltpan workers labour 8 to 10 hours a day under the blazing sun for a paltry income. With no proper gear, not even footwear, to protect them from the saline environment they are exposed to eye problems (including blindness) and skin diseases. All for the sake of an apathetic landlord.

Weathering in recent times has exploited variations in the resistance of different layers of Devonian sandstones to produce strangely sculpted features. The sandstone is aeolian in origin - deposited as wind-blown dunes in the Old Red Sandstone desert landscape.

When this picture was taken it was the lambing season and I couldn't get within 50 yards of the rock so these are all telephoto shots. I'll be back for the close-up shots.

On a whim I ran clamXav and lo and behold it found something, an WMF exploit in my browser cache, not a big deal but of all the times I have run it, this is the first time it found something.

Pretentious diction. Words like phenomenon, element, individual (as noun), objective, categorical, effective, virtual, basic, primary, promote, constitute, exhibit, exploit, utilize, eliminate, liquidate , are used to dress up a simple statement and give an aire of scientific impartiality to biased judgements. Adjectives like epoch-making, epic, historic, unforgettable, triumphant, age-old, inevitable, inexorable, veritable , are used to dignify the sordid process of international politics, while writing that aims at glorifying war usually takes on an archaic color, its characteristic words being: realm, throne, chariot, mailed fist, trident, sword, shield, buckler, banner, jackboot, clarion . Foreign words and expressions such as cul de sac, ancien r&eacutgime, deus ex machina, mutatis mutandis, status quo, gleichschaltung, weltanschauung , are used to give an air of culture and elegance. Except for the useful abbreviations i.e., e.g. , and etc. , there is no real need for any of the hundreds of foreign phrases now current in the English language. Bad writers, and especially scientific, political, and sociological writers, are nearly always haunted by the notion that Latin or Greek words are grander than Saxon ones, and unnecessary words like expedite, ameliorate, predict, extraneous, deracinated, clandestine, subaqueous , and hundreds of others constantly gain ground from their Anglo-Saxon numbers. The jargon peculiar to Marxist writing (hyena, hangman, cannibal, petty bourgeois, these gentry, lackey, flunkey, mad dog, White Guard , etc.) consists largely of words translated from Russian, German, or French; but the normal way of coining a new word is to use Latin or Greek root with the appropriate affix and, where necessary, the size formation. It is often easier to make up words of this kind (deregionalize, impermissible, extramarital, non-fragmentary and so forth) than to think up the English words that will cover one's meaning. The result, in general, is an increase in slovenliness and vagueness.

I once saw a help wanted sign in front of the Disney store asking for people who enjoyed "selling magic to children". What is most repugnant to me about this is the fact that it is somehow acceptable to commoditize the wonder of innocence and sell off the permission to let children experience it.

ATLANTA, GA: Feb. 22, 2023 – Press conference - Search for Abducted Atlanta Baby Goes Nationwide

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) is going nationwide to help solve a decades-old infant abduction mystery out of Atlanta. To generate fresh leads in the missing case of Raymond Green, NCMEC is partnering with national digital video network GSTV to spotlight Raymond’s case on screens across the country.

In a first-of-its-kind effort, all GSTV screens will highlight just one case nationwide. GSTV has more than 28,000 fuel retailers in 48 states. This is an unprecedented effort to reach people who may have never heard of Raymond’s story but might be the key to bringing him home. At a press conference today, Atlanta Police Department and NCMEC released a new image, which shows what Raymond might look like today at age 44. This new image was created by a forensic artist at NCMEC.

Raymond Green was just five days old when he was abducted from his home in Atlanta, Georgia on Nov. 6, 1978. After giving birth at Grady Memorial Hospital, Raymond’s mother, Donna, was befriended by a woman who called herself “Lisa.” That woman later showed up at Donna’s home and abducted baby Raymond. There is no photograph of Raymond, only a sketch from Donna’s memory. NCMEC forensic artists used photos of Raymond’s siblings and other family to estimate what he might look like today.
