A Patriot Rally held to raise money for the Nation Center For Missing And Exploited Children. One Nation Under God U.S.A. helped to raise funds by donating $7.00 for every t-shirt picked up at our tent, and worn by participants in the event.

Currently Wales and the UK are awash with a tied of new fossil fuel exploitation, shale gas, coal bed methane and new open cast coal mines. So often cited as bridging too renewables, or replacing imported fossil fuels.

All of this new fossil fuel development will bridge to renewables, pay for it, not distract from it? Does our governance seem like they are leading the way to mitigating climate change, are we a shinning example to others countries to follow suit?
Doesn't a global bullet need to be bitten within a short time scale, or is the bullet simply being deflecting for future generations to deal with, and its real impact?

Mario Cyr fut le premier à filmer des morses et des ours polaires sous l'eau. Il détient le record de la plus profonde plongée sous glace, 72 mètres ou 236 pieds, conjointement avec le plongeur français Éric Levan, exploit réalisé au lac Témiscouata, au Québec, en mars 1997.
Au fil des ans, Mario a participé à la réalisation de plus de 140 documentaires vidéos pour différentes chaînes de télévision et de cinéma. Il a capté des images de pieuvres géantes, d’épaulards, de bélugas, de baleines à bosses, de léopards de mer. Il a été membre de l’équipe de tournage du documentaire animalier Ice Bear, réalisé par le National Geographic et primé aux Emmy Awards en 2014 ainsi que du film Océans du Français Jacques Perrin, une production de Walt Disney ayant mérité un César, en France, en 2009. Puis, de septembre 2005 à novembre 2006, il était de l’équipage sur le Sedna IV avec Jean Lemire, cette mission partie en Antarctique pour y mesurer les effets des changements climatiques. Il a appris les secrets de la caméra IMAX en 2010 sur le film Polar Bears 3D : Ice Bear, produit par National Geographic et la CBC.
Devenu le spécialiste au Québec, voire dans le monde, des tournages en eaux froides, il est allé plus de 430 fois dans l’Arctique ainsi qu’en Alaska. Un ouvrage, truffé de spectaculaires photos, sur des textes de Nancy Chiasson, lui a été consacré : L’aventurier des glaces, publié chez Cardinal en 2018, préfacé par Denis Villeneuve. « Ce livre trace un portrait de cette relation exceptionnelle entre un homme et les océans, avec la magnifique humilité des gens des Îles et la profondeur des grandes âmes », écrivait le cinéaste d’Incendies.
Ils sont à peine une quinzaine sur la planète à gagner leur vie avec la caméra sous-marine, sans guère de relève.
Mario Cyr est né sur l'île de la Grande Entrée. Il est le fils de Marie-Claire Pealey et d'Hénéri Cyr. Jeune, il a été pêcheur de homards.
Il effectue sa première plongée le 10 juillet 1976, à la recherche de palourdes. Dès la fin de ses études secondaires en 1977, à l’âge de 17 ans, il entreprend, au cégep Ahuntsic à Montréal, des cours de plongée professionnelle. Devenu guide-plongeur, il se spécialise en tournage sous-marin à partir de 1984. Sa carrière cinématographique débute réellement en 1991, lors d'un partenariat avec National Geographic. Il se spécialise dans les tournages en eaux froides, en Arctique, là où il a effectué plusieurs dizaines d'expéditions. Son expertise l'amène à travailler en tant que caméraman sous-marin pour des documentaires animaliers de nombreuses chaînes comme Discovery Channel, BBC Earth et Disneynature.
À ce jour, il a effectué plus de 12,000 plongées en mer, dont certaines dans des conditions très difficiles. Il est également spécialisé en sauvetage et en cueillette de données scientifiques sur différentes espèces telles le homard, la moule, le pétoncle et la palourde.
Régulièrement interpellé sur les questions environnementales et maritimes, il donne plusieurs conférences chaque année.
De 1993 à 1997, il est maire de Grande-Entrée.
«J’ai vraiment confiance en la jeunesse. Mais je trouve qu’il n’y a pas de leadership politique pour la préservation de l’environnement. À l’échelle mondiale, l’écologie devrait être un parapluie qui est au-dessus de tout le reste, c’est la seule façon d’être conséquent à long terme. »

Used pre-made puff pastry for the shells, as I'm a lazy bint.
The custard was made with sugar, milk, cream, yolks, and a pinch of vanilla, using the recipe here. However, I also added some vanilla to the mix, and used a combination of castor and icing sugar (as opposed to plain ol' sugar) for a finer texture.
