Army Reserve Soldiers took on a 4-mile ruck march carrying approximately 65 pounds worth of gear and equipment at Fort McCoy, Wis., April 28 during the 2015 Combined Theater Engineer Commands' (TEC) Best Warrior Competition hosted at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, April 25-29. Manuel Alvarado and Emma Alvarado are closer to rebuilding now that the Army Corps of Engineers have completed Phase 2 of fire debris removal on March 7, 2025. The Alvarado’s navigated the rebuilding process with help from grandson Antonio Cosby who has helped every step of the way.

The park, a public garden, was created through Baron Haussmann's development of Paris; a former quarry was developed by engineer Jean-Charles Alphand (1817-91), horticulturist Jean-Pierre Barillet-Deschamps (1824-73), and architect Gabriel Davioud (1824-81). Work was commissioned by Emperor Napoleon III in 1860, and opened for the Universal Exhibition in 1867.

The Los Angeles District marked anniversary 237 of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during their annual event June 29.
Under the commander’s motto “Taking Care of People,” the District converged on the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area in Irwindale, Calif.
Engineer Day was the perfect venue to recognize teammates for their decades of service and accomplishments. This year, 78 District employees met the criteria of 10-to 45-years of service. In all, 28 employees were available to receive their award at the event.
U.S. Army Reserve combat engineer Soldiers from the 374th Engineer Company (Sapper), headquartered in Concord, Calif., conducted an air assault landing and patrol training July 18 during a two-week field training exercise known as a Sapper Leader Course Prerequisite Training at Camp San Luis Obispo Military Installation, Calif. Had a private tour of the engine control room on board from the Chief Engineer. It was very interesting to see how the ship runs. Might be a future career idea.

Before I left Colorado my Dad and I were able to hit the snowshoes. We started out on one of the Engineer Mountain trails, but it didn't take long for the trail to become completely hidden leaving us to just forge our own. Hard work! We didn't actually go very far, but had some good fun.
