The old engine was giving demonstrations today and attracted great interest, not least from someone who was dressed like he might have invented it !!

Charles Babbage (1791-1871), computer pioneer, designed the first automatic computing engines. He invented computers but failed to build them. The first complete Babbage Engine was completed in London in 2002, 153 years after it was designed. Difference Engine No. 2, built faithfully to the original drawings, consists of 8,000 parts, weighs five tons, and measures 11 feet long.

This Chevy 350 engine is going to go into my 260Z. Marking progress as this is not something typically done for these cars. Day 1, engine prepped. To note, engine was pumpkin orange, and surface rusted in some spots. Engine as sits took approximatly 4 hours to clean and paint.

So, I'm walking along the South Bank of the Thames and see one of the Ducktour amphibious vehicles ahead of me. It wasn't going particularly qucikly, and I ended up overtaking it.

After a couple of minutes, I looked back to see that it had stopped, and a fireboat was heading towards it, followed by a lifeboat. By the time I retraced my steps to see what was going on, the fireboat had drawn level and was attaching a rope to it, while the lifeboat kept an eye on procedings from a little further away.

The engine register counted the number of propeller shaft revolutions and served the same purpose as an odometer in a car. During conservation the "Monitor" became visible on the registers faceplate. This was the first piece of the wreck recovered that bore the name of the vessel.

Engine in a car at a car show. Mmmmmm yummy!

This is the engine bay with the STS turbo installed. Nice and neat, this is a very clean install

I went for a less-dark post processing here.
