Kari's Embroidered Tea Towel Round Robin for Swap-bot. @JulieF did the spring tree. @SweetClementine did the cottage with flowers. @Nicc79 will be adding something spring-themed to the towel before sending it home to @kari.
I drew the cottage design based on a vintage transfer for a school house that had a turret-type thing on top with a bell. The red button used over the door was from Kari's grandmother (she had sent me some old buttons as part of a swap). I hope that makes it even more special for Kari.
My camera phone washed out the colors, but isn't it cute?! ;-)

Silk embroidered postcard (140mm x 89mm) made in France and addressed to Miss Gwen Nevin, Strathalbyn, South Australia.
A small (78mm x 45mm) card, here photographed in situ, that apparently accompanied the larger card is 'from Harold'.
Miss Gwendoline Annie Nevin was born in Burra, South Australia, on 30 October 1900.
The identity of Harold is unknown
Vancouver’s Chinese Garden was built in 1985-1986 using the time honored principles and techniques of the original Ming dynasty garden. Fifty-two master craftsmen from Suzhou China, working with Canadian counterparts, completed this landscape masterpiece within a year. The intricate halls and walkways are constructed with precise joinery and without the use of nails, screws or glue. The Garden opened on April 24, 1986.
Based on the principle of collaborative design, the Garden compliments the adjacent public park; enhancing the view in both places.
For the architect, the botanist, the student of history, the lover of beauty, the Garden provides insights into the subtle wonders to be found within the walls of this living treasure.
Just me, my WIP, and my trusty camping chair -- embroidering street-style! I like to stitch while watching my daughter and her friends play outside on the street. The children are pretty interested and keep track of my progress. I've already given a few beginner lessons!

I did the embroidery on this crib quilt kit before I ever began to quilt, so it is pre-1978. Because I didn't know how to bury the knots on it and it was pre-quilted, the back looked less than finished. So I just put it away. Recently, with help from friends Elaine and Iona, I crow-foot tied it to a new backing and gave it a new binding. It was displayed for sale at our local senior center with the proceeds going to fund supplies for our quilt group there. It measures 34" X 55".
It sold last week!
