I love this collection of embroideries from Too Cute Designs. They just make me giggle.I want to dress the front window of the shop with a kitchen theme in mind, so I'll be making lots of stuff with that in mind.
I found some Walkman speakers that someone threw away. They worked fine! I taped them together, sewed a silk cover, and embroidered the surface of the speakers to look like a cassette tape.

It's Christmas morning, 1982(?), and my oldest brother is sporting a yellow shirt made by my grandmother, Gammon, which, if you look closely, is embroidered with his own drawing of one of the robots from the movie The Black Hole.
Also of note, my brother's much beloved Wampa figure and my Mon Chi Chi.
Circa 1982?.
Actually it is most likely a child's dress. I usually wear a size small and this fit me, except that it was very tight in the shoulders. So it needs a child or a small shouldered woman.
Absolutely gorgeous multi-colored embroidery against a stunning white cotton background.
There is one eraser head sized stain on the front near the bottom. The brightness of the embroidery really distracts from this, but the price has been lowered. See last photo.

I bought these napkins at a flea market for $1. I embroidered each corner of them so this view only shows four of the sixteen embroideries. Some of the other corners have small objects like an acorn, a bird and a ladybug on them.
Embroidered cape and vest, c. 1900. This elaborate garment displaying beautiful dival embroidery, was a popular Turkish export from1850-1920. It was probably worn by Lillian Gambrell McCall (1880-1959) of Bennettsville, SC. She lived on Appin Plantation and married Charles Sinclair McCall in 1911. Dival embroidery is typical of Turkish work – the wrapped thread is stitched to the fabric (couched), not embroidered through it. The circular shape, upstanding collar and rolled thread buttons of this piece reflect an Albanian styling.
