Lunch time for the elephant at the Buffalo Zoo.

Elephants are weird, just look at them; absolutely nothing is in the right place or in a reasonable proportion.

Serengeti National Park is one of the best-known wildlife sanctuaries in the world, and symbolises the classic African safari. With more than 2 million wildebeest, half a million Thomson's gazelle, and a quarter of a million zebra, it has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa. The Serengeti is also synonymous with the annual wildebeest and zebra migration.

Amigurumi Elephant + Granny Blankie= Adorable

These photos were taken on 21st April 2007 and at this time Tian Tian and Mei Xiang were sharing the same enclosures. The keepers/volunteers placed 2 crates covered with honey in enclosure #3 (the one opposite the elephant house and furthest from Tai Shan's mansion). As soon as the adults were allowed to enter, Mei Xiang appeared to be very observant, methodical and cautious and found one of the crates within a min of entering (photo above, one smart panda!) while I am sorry to say (LOL) Tian Tian appear to be clueless (AWWW) and had to follow Mei to find the treats. As you can see below he managed to bully his way into getting the crate from her, she simply walked off without causing a fuss. As she wondered off she must of caught sight of the second crate (even I didnt see the second one there!), which was lodged against the side of the wooden panda sofa...;o)
