In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, the NEA and MTA surprised Falmouth third-grade teacher Suzy Brooks in her classroom at the Mullen-Hall School with several "inspiration" boxes. Brooks is an inspiring educator who shares her ideas and strategies on Pinterest, where she has more than 12,000 followers and has been named as a "teacher to watch" by the social media channel.

The National Association of Cuban American Educators (NACAE) awarded "Educator of the Year 2012" Dr. Modesto A. Maidique, President Emeritus of Florida International University (FIU), Alva H. Chapman Jr. Eminent Scholar Chair in Leadership, Executive Director of the Center for Leadership and Professor of Management, Faculty of Business Administration, all at FIU. Dr. Maidique was FIU President for 23 years, the first Cuban-American university president in the U.S.

In recognition of their exemplary roles as educators, Baldwin Wallace recently honored Drs. Barbara (Mueller) Sawrey ’73 and Thea (McAfee) Wilson ’75 as Outstanding Educators and celebrated Dorin Jackson ’10 and Sarah Piscsalko ’13 as Jill Herrick Graduate Education Scholarship recipients. The four individuals were lauded March 25 at the 2018 Celebration of Outstanding Educators.
Educators enjoy a special after-hours viewing of the exhibits at the National Archives while learning about resources and workshops for National History Day. They include options for video conferencing programs into their classroom, DocsTeach online resources and lesson plans, Learning Labs, field trip planning, and more during an Educators Open House at the National Archives in Washington, DC, on September 13, 2018.

On April 20, Pennsylvania educators' visited Fort Belvoir, K-9 Unit to watch a controlled training demonstration. The U.S. Army Harrisburg Recruiting Battalion sponsored 24 Pennsylvania educators' and community leaders' during April 18-21, 2011 for the 2011 U.S. Army Educators' and Community Leaders' Tour to the Military District of Washington including visits to the Pentagon, Fort Myer and Fort Belvoir.
