These fascinating chunks of ice, which have broken off the glacier and been washed out to sea from the lagoon, strand themselves on the volcanic black sand beach. My husband & I scoured up and down the shoreline looking for unusual & eyecatching shapes. The ice with a hole is about the size of a sheep - gives a sense of scale.
A long exposure allowed the waves to drag themselves in streaks across the black sand.

Jökulsárlón (literally "glacial river lagoon") is a large glacial lagoon in southeast Iceland, on the borders of Vatnajökull National Park. Situated at the head of Breiðamerkurjökull, it evolved into a lagoon after the glacier started receding from the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. The lake has grown since then at varying rates because of melting of the Icelandic glaciers. The lagoon now stands 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) away from the ocean's edge and covers an area of about 18 km2 (6.9 sq mi). It recently became the deepest lake in Iceland at over 248 metres (814 ft) depth as glacial retreat extended its boundaries.[1] The size of the lagoon has increased fourfold since the 1970s.
Iceland (Icelandic: Ísland) is a Nordic European island country situated at the confluence of the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans, on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. The country has a population of about 320,000 and a total area of 103,000 km2 (40,000 sq mi), which makes it the most sparsely populated country in Europe. The capital and largest city is Reykjavík, with the surrounding areas in the southwestern region of the country being home to two-thirds of the country's population. The nation's capital is the most northern capital in the world. Iceland is volcanically and geologically active. The interior consists mainly of a plateau characterised by sand and lava fields, mountains and glaciers, while many glacial rivers flow to the sea through the lowlands. Iceland is warmed by the Gulf Stream and has a temperate climate despite a high latitude just outside the Arctic Circle.

As I was getting started with analog photography I got into the habit of taking a film camera with me everywhere I went and simply took photos of anything that I found interesting. This was a great way of getting used to photographing with film and everything it entails. This set of images is from that period and consist of small scenes that I found on the streets around my current home of Baden in Switzerland.

The entrance to the Manassas Mall Sears store as it presently stands. This location is not on the latest closing list and stands as one of a few Sears stores left in the Washington, D.C. area.
Also as of now Sears has retreated to a normal advertising campaign, differing from the previous eyecatching clearance campaigns that resembled store closing signage.
Familiar on the streets of Glasgow (and beyond, as seen here in Paisley) were the training fleet of Atlanteans in this eyecatching livery, in the 80s & 90s. I did all my route-learning on this bus the previous year, with an Irishman called Eugene in charge. Another poor soul learns his trade here in Paisley, as SBL still had considerable penetration in Renfrewshire at this time. LA682 wasn't a bad old bus.

Eyecatching MILF in slimfit jeans, nice top and blazer. Having beautiful long hair, nice makup and pink colored nails. Walking in awesome classy stiletto pumps having a 4-5inch high heel with black to red color gradient, while her boyfriend is wearing comfy sneakers :D
She was walking very well, which could indicate that she was used to her sexy shoes. I saw them a couple of times and saw no struggleing.
I am always wondering why women wearing high heeled shoes to a tradeshow, which means much walking and standing. Do they want to compete with the trade show hostess to impress their boyfriends? In this case, at least for her footwear, she was beating the hostess girls :)

These houses and buildings are a very short distance North-West of Orkney's Finstown village.
This photo was taken looking down from the "Hill Of Heddle" lower slopes - next to the main road from Finstown to Stromness.

Another from the most recent London Flickr Group photowalk along the Lowline. This eyecatching street art decorated the front of one of the railway arches that the Moor Beer Company occupies.
Starting in Bermondsey we followed the Lowline westwards through newly regenerated parts of South London before finishing at Southwark. A bit off the beaten track but all the more interesting for it.......
More info here it you're not familiar with the relatively new walking route : www.lowline.london/
If this sounds like the kind of thing that might interest you then I'd suggest you join the London Flickr Group and keep an eye out for future announcements. The next one will probably be some time in February : www.flickr.com/groups/londonflickrgroup

From the companies website, "Moor Beer was reborn in 2007 when Californian Justin Hawke purchased the defunct business and created what has become one of the world’s top rated breweries. Named from the Levels and Moors area of Somerset where the brewery originated, Moor Beer moved to central Bristol behind Temple Meads Rail Station in 2014 where we have a Tap Room and shop and host brewery tours. In 2017 we expanded our reach further by opening a second site on London’s Bermondsey Beer Mile.
We have a simple philosophy at Moor - our beers are always live, always natural and always vegan friendly. Natural fermentation and carbonation with live yeast is at the heart of everything we brew. We firmly believe that live beer has a unique texture, fullness of flavour and softness of mouthfeel that can’t be replicated by faster, cheaper brewing methods. Leaving live yeast and other flavour compounds in beer enhances aroma, flavour, appearance and mouth feel. It also makes the beer vegan friendly. Our belief that adding isinglass finings to beer has a negative impact on quality is why we pioneered the unfined natural vegan beer movement in the UK."

Help me explore the concept of online quid pro quo. You get great visual content and I get extra credit in my emerging media class. Or at least that's the cunning plan...
Also, if you have an idea for a custom graphic you need for your own blog or website, please share with me at mkhmktg@yahoo.com. I'll give it my best shot to create something for you.

i'm back!
shedney,
my challenge is to got the perfect focus area.
using my macro lens, even with 22 of aperture, the focus area is too short.
i use a little tube of a syringe to make the (manual) focus just between the infrared sensors and after then, i can't touch the camera.
i press the trigger of the camera very carefully and throw the water exactly at the right place
that's why the focus is clear and looks like the background is inside the drop. =) warm greetings from Brazil
