This was actually a single 3D artwork hanging in our downtown city clerks building. They were closed and I was out with some friends in our costumes that otherwise would have drawn attention during the day. And I noticed it through the window and said this should be shared. And earlier today I decided it would look just as good mirrored, and flipped in a border frame. And if I do say so I believe it turned out rather nice.
This photo was taken quite early in the afternoon on the 21st of December. It was looking south past open farmland towards Scapa Floow and the bay at Scapa on the Orkney Islands.
Slightly right of centre is the silhouette of the "Regalia" accommodation rig awaiting deployment to an offshore oilfield.
By the way - for the benefit of those of you have yet to benefit from the delights of Orkney - on a cloudless "Longest Day" around the 21st of June in Mid-Summer - it is often possible to read the small-print of a newspaper outside at normal arm's-length!

The superb and ancient Medieval clock in Wells Cathedral. Another one of those shots where i clamped the camera to part of the church fabric and largely hoped for the best. The little figures that race round every quarter hour are on a corbel above, but proved too illusive to catch for the moment, but the gloriously coloured dial was just as eyecatching.
The eyecatching Turning Torso building in Malmö, Sweden at 1:125 scale.
One of my first forays into architecture turned out to be a lot of fun!

All of that visible sea is the North Atlantic Ocean - and the distant high hills and cliffs are part of Orkney's southern Hoy Island.
In the middle distance is the Atlantic coastline of Orkney's "West Mainland".
This is written on the backside of the card:
In the world of fashion, Sindy sets the scene.
With four stylish, eyecatching outfits to choose from,
Sindy's all set to start her day.
I got the dress and kitten heels a long time ago, but didn't know they belonged together until much later. I called the shoes my "banana shoes" and Camilla (one of my favourite Sindys) was the only one who wore them.
Isn't this jacket marvelous!?

Allium is a genus of monocotyledonous flowering plants that includes hundreds of species, including the cultivated onion, garlic, scallion, shallot, leek, and chives. The generic name Allium is the Latin word for garlic, and the type species for the genus is Allium sativum which means "cultivated garlic".
This flower is located in #crystalcity
What appears to be a naked woman on her bed saying to her dog, sorry, it's all gone, referring to the empty bowl at the right, is actually a fibreglass sculpture. I was across the street eating lunch and saw two men carrying this sculpture, from a distance it looked real, however, the odds of her being real were slim to none, but you never know! Being curious, I quickly finished my lunch and crossed the street to find out more. I was told the sculpture had been purchased the previous evening at an auction house by a second hand store called the Crow's Nest in Esquimalt BC Canada. The owners of the store couldn't resist buying it and since putting it outside their store it has attracted quite a bit of attention. The owner's have no idea who the sculptor was.

MELBOURNE, VIC AUSTRALIA
My tour up the Eureka Skydeck 88.
A little reflection of Melbourne as it is mirrored off one of the pylons.
A nothing shot really at the time, but became a bit more apparent when major icons in the city appeared to be more recognisable and eyecatching back the front. Some of these were St Paul's Cathedral and Flinders Station.
Anyway, thought I would give it a shot.

This green bug was pretty much, the star of the Macro shooting for the day. Someone spotted it while taking a photo-break and then almost everyone took advantage of the good light.
I'm so glad i had my 100mm macro with me :)
Since when, are seagulls not hungry!? This one saw a piece of bread & came in to scoop it up!
He even kept the rock in balance! I was able to catch it right at that exact moment! (Best on black)

This years art installation by Nicole Evans and Patrick Farrell. Always on my calendar of images to take throughout the year. Nicole always kindly lets me know when it's up and ready to view, I took this a few weeks ago now and have only just got around to editing it.
Here's what the website says and a link to if you are interested in finding out more about UCA:
'Still enjoying working with found objects, Evans and Farrell offer a sculpture using old bicycles heading skyward into the blue of North Grand Pre. As always, whimsy and illusion figure strongly in their installation'.
