All of that visible sea is the North Atlantic Ocean - and the distant high hills and cliffs are part of Orkney's southern Hoy Island.

In the middle distance is the Atlantic coastline of Orkney's "West Mainland".

This is written on the backside of the card:

In the world of fashion, Sindy sets the scene.

With four stylish, eyecatching outfits to choose from,

Sindy's all set to start her day.

I got the dress and kitten heels a long time ago, but didn't know they belonged together until much later. I called the shoes my "banana shoes" and Camilla (one of my favourite Sindys) was the only one who wore them.

Isn't this jacket marvelous!?

#15 -- 2015 -- 115 Pictures in 2015

(Eyecatching primary color scheme going on here, with a touch of green foliage.)

Allium is a genus of monocotyledonous flowering plants that includes hundreds of species, including the cultivated onion, garlic, scallion, shallot, leek, and chives. The generic name Allium is the Latin word for garlic, and the type species for the genus is Allium sativum which means "cultivated garlic".

What appears to be a naked woman on her bed saying to her dog, sorry, it's all gone, referring to the empty bowl at the right, is actually a fibreglass sculpture. I was across the street eating lunch and saw two men carrying this sculpture, from a distance it looked real, however, the odds of her being real were slim to none, but you never know! Being curious, I quickly finished my lunch and crossed the street to find out more. I was told the sculpture had been purchased the previous evening at an auction house by a second hand store called the Crow's Nest in Esquimalt BC Canada. The owners of the store couldn't resist buying it and since putting it outside their store it has attracted quite a bit of attention. The owner's have no idea who the sculptor was.

My tour up the Eureka Skydeck 88.

A little reflection of Melbourne as it is mirrored off one of the pylons.

A nothing shot really at the time, but became a bit more apparent when major icons in the city appeared to be more recognisable and eyecatching back the front. Some of these were St Paul's Cathedral and Flinders Station.

Anyway, thought I would give it a shot.

This years art installation by Nicole Evans and Patrick Farrell. Always on my calendar of images to take throughout the year. Nicole always kindly lets me know when it's up and ready to view, I took this a few weeks ago now and have only just got around to editing it.

Here's what the website says and a link to if you are interested in finding out more about UCA:

'Still enjoying working with found objects, Evans and Farrell offer a sculpture using old bicycles heading skyward into the blue of North Grand Pre. As always, whimsy and illusion figure strongly in their installation'.

The made up shot based on a friend's photo. It is quite intense and eyecatching when the rose was kept in colour when other part of the photo was almost BW.

That was looking South East across Orkney's sheltered "Scapa Flow" anchorage towards the island of Burray in an early June evening.

The rig at anchor on the left is the "Safe Boreas" oil-industry accommodation platform sheltering temporarily in Scapa Flow. Due to the recent large drop in crude-oil prices it is awaiting future gainful employment!

I hope you all have a colorful weekend!

Art Blue Metal 58. Wax, metal, heat, & rust make this texture, randomly created during encaustic painting process. This is a macro photo of a fragment of a 2'x3' sheet of metal used to extinguish the burning wax. The process creates random shapes and textures in a multitude of colors, though blue predominates. Some photos may look like maps or galaxies, others are more abstract. 12.22.2015. Sony DSC-HX90V 4.1mm 1/60@f7.1 ISO100

November 2016 gemeinsam an.

Standort
