There is no war in the empire. No want, no strife, no disunity, no dissent. Only peace.

A welcome break today, 7th April, 2021, from the endless school runs and rail replacement with a run out in both of Empress' Bedford J2 Plaxton Embassies, my first experience of these little curiosities.

When Ethan A. Winning commented on an old post of this Empress Leilia butterfly, he noted the unusual proboscis that appeared to be flat in its coiled position. That had me curious so I dug into the archives to see if there was a more definitive view. Yup, it's flat. Observed at the Papalote Rancho Viejo campsite in Big Bend Ranch State Park.

Empress Falls is the first main waterfall one encounters when descending down the trail along the Valley of the Waters Walk in the Blue Mountains, Australia. The falls form an exit to Empress Canyon. The Valley of the Waters Creek gushes from its gorge and spills over fern-fringed ledges to drop 30 metres into a deep pool where locals swim.

Hagia Sophia (Ayasofya Mosque) was built in 537 by the emperor Justinian and served as the chief church of the Byzantine Empire. It was converted into a mosque after the Turkish conquest in 1453, secularized into a museum in 1945, and then reconsecrated as a mosque in 2020.

The 1890 Empress Flour Mill on Queen Street is category C industrial heritage building, which means that its removal is a permitted activity. There are two plaques on the front of the building, one relating to the 118 year old structure and the other to the 1921 grain silos. With a height of 35 metres the category B listed heritage silos are the town's most prominent landmark. They're still in use and will not be demolished.

Queen Victoria was also Empress of India (from 1876). In her diamond jubilee year of 1897, Wentworth Falls reserve Trust appointed a committee to name the waterfalls in the Valley of the Waters. Some waterfalls bear the names of wives and daughters of those trustees.

The Empress is an archetype of feminine power; she is watery, hard to fathom, mysterious, fertile, and sexual. She augurs a need for us to be in touch with our feminine side, to listen to our intuition, and to give priority to our emotions and passions.

The Empress Theatre (also known as Cinema V), is an abandoned Egyptian Revival style theatre located on Sherbrooke Street west in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce district of Montreal. After operating for 65 years, the theater closed in 1992.

The theater was designed by Joseph-Alcide Chaussé, with interiors by Emmanuel Briffa, and built in 1927. It is the only theatre in Canada designed in the Egyptian style (inspired by the discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb).

In 1928 it opened as the Empress Theatre, the building was a vaudeville theatre for burlesque and first-run films.

In 1965, it was a cabaret called the Royal Follies.

In 1968 it became a two-tiered art-movie cinema known as Cinema V and Salle Hermes.

In 1974 it was briefly named The Home of the Blue Movies.

In 1975 it became simply Cinema V, a repertory cinema.

In 1988 it was acquired by Famous Players and showed first-run films.

In 1992 a fire caused damage to the theater resulting in its permanent closure.

The historical Empress Theater in Vallejo, CA. Built in 1911. Closed for 20 years after the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake and re-opened in 2008.

Built for The Imperial Consortium, Factions RPG. This is probably the quickest I’ve been able to build and photograph a MOC. The rockwork isn’t the best, but I’m pretty happy with most of it. Thanks for looking!

A Rolls Royce Silver Cloud with bespoke coachwork (James Young? Hooper?) is a more regal companion to the usual crop of classic American cars at a Lutz car show, proudly bearing the moniker of ‘Empress’. The parasol led lady alongside has an aristocratic demeanour too.

Behold the mighty Empress Duggo XII and tremble mortals! A descendent of the long and storied royalty of the DSN, who live many generations due to their advanced gene therapies, Empress Duggo XII has already had a long and prosperous reign.

She hopes to conquer the DA landscape as another feather in her cap - always nice to have a winning war mid way through the annals of your reign. On her sleeve she proudly wears the campaign ribbon awarded to her by her father for winning her first war.

With her companion - the steadfast and foul mouthed bleeping robot General Johnny 5 - in charge of the war strategy, she knows nothing can stand in her way!

She holds the symbolic flag-scepter of the mariners, the Duggonian family crest from eons ago when they ruled only over an oceanic empire on the homeworld.
