Dynamic reworking of your granny's graduated glass bead necklace

Things have settled down a bit at home. Time to get creative.

Kaitimar's mini Batmobile, with a couple of twists of my own.

I continued the fluid line of the cockpit towards the back and I lowered the "wings" into a more dynamic position. The "nose" is a little more aggressive on my version and I also added some contrasting details.

It's a simple build, with common parts, yet the result is quite nice in my opinion. I wish the Batmobile polybag would have something more like this inside.

On my drive to work, 7:30 am I believe. This field always has great lighting dynamism.

Friends in distance I placed them in the center of my frame. How could I miss them with so many dynamic lines.

The lens was too old with no filters on the glass, it did not work fine against light. So I turn the pic into b&w.

Not bad for coming straight out of camera. Pre-rotated shot and trimmed for a 16:9 and still 6400px wide. Effective focal length of 640mm on crop sensor. Spectator vantage point 8'-10' away from the fence I had to shoot through. Glad it was overcast :P

I generally do not put full size images up here but figured 'why not' for anyone that wanted to see what the camera can do.

Admittedly, there was an issue with focusing that was not really revealed (that I could not fix) until after this event so I had a helluva time with this camera. I have since (I think) rectified the matter but have not had a chance to really test it. Was not really a fan of the 400 f2.8 mkIII and how it focused. Much prefer the way the mkII focuses but could have also been user-error. Ok, likely was user error. Note to self: Don't show up to a major event with brand new kit that you've never tested. Still got hundreds of keepers though.

I also learned that I cannot underexpose by 2/3 to 1 stop as I would like to with this sensor because it's too dark. Dynamic range is definitely better than the 7DmkII but the dark areas are a little to dark. My concern with that is I will have to compromise on the highlights a little bit because the darks are so dark and not so sure I want to do that. Nevertheless, I figured I'd put-up what I got straight off the camera because for the price of this camera (and quality glass), it's pretty darn good.

There is no editing done to this other than the crop and converting the RAW to RGB. Settings like contrast, sharpness were set in-camera so what I shot is what I got.

Definitely a little crunchier for my tastes with the noise than what I'm used to getting from my 5D mkIV but overall, decent. Jury is still out though on whether the 90D is viable for me to use. Not a fan of crop sensors and how they cut-into/trim the perspective-feel/look compared to a full frame. Time will tell after some more testing and using the 300mm f2.8 and what I can get.

From this distance/processing it's kinda hard to see, but the the fur is still missing right above his nose pad and near his eye - the result of Henry's tender loving care.

Waiting in the twilight of the predawn, thirty minutes until official sunrise in this enchanted Burke County valley looking up at iconic Table Rock and its sister mountain to the right, Hawksbill. With a front moving across the area I was hoping for at least a few clouds to add a nice backdrop to the ridgeline, and was not disappointed. The only thing I didn't have due to the timing and the way the clouds formed to my back was enough light directly on Table Rock to aid in distinguishing the detail of the rocky summit. Still enjoyed the morning shoot. Hope you enjoy this image 'Fall in beautiful Burke County'...

This is the new 54,000 square metres large concert, congress and hotel complex in Malmö. The building consists of a composition of cubic volumes that are mutually twisted and given different sizes to meet the directions and building heights of the surrounding city. The façades are designed with a homogeneous expression to make the composition appear as one architectonic sculpture.

The new cultural centre becomes an open, expressive and dynamic building that is manifold in both its activities and its architecture. The point of departure for the building design is the modern Scandinavian architectural tradition with the clear functional organisation and the accessible and open ground floor lay-out. The building becomes the focal point and a landmark for Malmö – a place where the spirit of the city, the diversity and the intimacy is given an architectonic expression.

Spring is here... and we are finally starling to get some breaks in the weather. This shot was taken a couple of weeks ago on a day that had otherwise been rather gray and boring. But I looked out my window and saw that there was potential for a nice sunset to form and reflect against the clouds. I only had about 30 minutes and it was rush hour but I decided to risk it. I ended up getting to the 12th Street bridge just 5 minutes before sunset and man am I glad I made the trek! This was one of those "are you kidding me, is this real?" moments.

About the shot, I chose the Rizal bridge to try out my filters from Fotodiox for my Nikon 14-24 wide angle lens. I'm pretty happy with the results. I also went to the Rizal bridge for a bit of revenge! I had been to this bridge 2 other times during the previous week on days that I thought the sunset was going to be great only to watch the inevitable cloud of doom move in and the sunset ended up being a bust. This was payback, I got you this time oh elusive sunset! (shakes fist at sky)
