Testing the dynamic range of my D80. In the top row, the histogram of the centrally placed grey card was centered by adjusting the exposure. Then using M mode, this exposure was decreased by 4 stops on left and increased by 4 stops on right.
The left most column in each pair is at ISO 100, the rightmost at ISO 1600. At least 7 stops range here.
PS: If you try this, choose something other than a T shirt for the white background.

This picture's background may be to simple to meet the requirements for dynamic tension, but I tried to with the individual light fixtures in the chandelier.

Here I am repairing a road as a NATO convoy passes me on the side road I made. I was a part of Operation Dynamic Mix in the early summer of 2002. Along with keeping the roads and supply lines open and accessible for NATO forces, I was tasked with constructing a runway out of a field in the Spanish countryside that an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) could land on. The first generation drones were smaller and had plastic-ish wheels that up till then, could not land on earthen airfields. They would bounce and flip. I was given a few days and was allowed to pick my equipment and crew. The drones were flown by a Marine Corps unit named, VMU-2.

Grandmom, Uncle Craig, Alex, and Patrick go to the zoo. By the afternoon, the skies had cleared and the siamangs celebrated with their amazing hooting. This is one of Alex's favorite things to see at the zoo.
