I finally got round to editing the LFCC Summer 2014 pics, but after nearly losing them all, I knew I had to get a move on.

Long Exposure SOOC from the crags looking out over dynamic earth. Tweaked the WB and levels a bit as the light from Dynamic Earth was a bit overpowering.
HDR means high dynamic range. A shot exposed for the sky was superimposed on one exposed a few seconds earlier for the houses, and the very dark foreground in the sky shot was erased in Photoshop before the two layers were merged. The the ghostly duplication of some of the skyline features and the less than perfect erasing of the foreground in the sky shot betray the crude technique, but to me it's not altogether ineffective as a reminder of the feeling I had looking out on yesterday's frosty morning.

12:53 P.M. WB Sun. I really like the lighting of this picture. I also think the lines in the frame helps me to see dynamic tension. There are horizontal lines on the steps, diagonal lines from the rail and side of the stairs, and "natural" vertical line provided by the position of the brick wall.
La tour Hassan est une tour célèbre de Rabat.
Le sultan Yacoub El Mansour (xiie siècle) projetait de construire la plus grande mosquée du monde musulman, après celle de Samarra en Irak. Les travaux furent abandonnés après sa mort en 1199.
La tour devait culminer à plus de 60 m, mais n'atteignit que 44 m.
La colonnade de l'édifice fut endommagé lors du tremblement de terre de Lisbonne de 1755.
Ce site a été choisi pour ériger le Mausolée Mohammed V où reposent le roi Mohammed V et ses fils Hassan II et Moulay Abdellah.
Son style est un chef-d'Å“uvre de l'art marocain traditionnel.
Le minaret (la tour) s'élève à 44 mètres au dessus du sol, mais si l'on s'en tient aux critères de l'architecture Almohade (5 hauteurs pour 1 largeur), il aurait dû s'élever à plus de 80 mètres et dépasser ainsi la Koutoubia de Marrakech.
Devant la tour, se trouvait l'oratoire, dont on aperçoit les vestiges des colonnades de marbre. Il comprenait 18 travées, 312 colonnes et 44 piliers. Les murs de la mosquée étaient percés de 14 portes.
Chacune des quatre faces de la tour, sculptée directement dans la pierre, porte une ornementation différente. La rampe qui permet l'ascension de la tour est suffisamment large pour qu'un homme à cheval la gravisse.
