Welcome to the bustling waterfront of San Francisco, California. This image captures a dynamic scene at Pier 22 1/2, home to the San Francisco Fire Department. A cyclist rides by on a red bicycle, adding a touch of everyday life to the industrial setting. The concrete barrier alongside the sidewalk provides safety while framing the scene.
The modern building in the background proudly displays the text "SAN FRANCISCO FIRE DEPARTMENT PIER 22 1/2," highlighting its significance. Docked at the pier, a red and white fireboat stands ready for action, showcasing the city's readiness and resilience. The cloudy sky adds a dramatic backdrop, enhancing the urban atmosphere.
To the right, the iconic bridge in the distance connects the city, symbolizing both physical and communal links in San Francisco. This scene encapsulates the essence of the city’s waterfront—where life, work, and iconic structures converge.
Whether you're a local resident or a visitor, this image invites you to explore the vibrant and industrious side of San Francisco. The blend of modern architecture, essential services, and everyday activities paints a vivid picture of a city that thrives on its waterfront.

I often imagined a dawn like this at this location, but never thought I would be fortunate enough to be there at the right time to capture it. The night before I took this, I knew there would be a chance for a colorful dawn but it would be very slim. I had actually planned on sleeping in but woke up in the middle of the night restless and not able to go back to sleep. So I packed up my camera gear and headed off to the Golden Gate Bridge. At the last moment I decided to drive to Treasure Island instead because it was looking a little too foggy towards The Golden Gate. I am really pleased that I had a change of heart because the light was really nice at Clipper Cove and I got to capture a dawn that I have been imagining for a very long time.
Thank you for having a look!

Can you believe Alamo ran out of rental cars? That's like KFC running out of chicken... which ironically happened to me before as well. There was literally a line of people waiting for cars. Did I mention that this Alamo was in Las Vegas? I could understand if this was a small town in Alaska, but in Vegas. How does a rental car company run out of cars in Vegas? Needless to say I waited 60 minutes in the freezing cold before cars started trickling in. Lucky for me I was one of the first in line. After being offered and denying a few gas guzzlers, I settle for this Chevy Malibu. I was absolutely amazed at how comfortable this car was. This was the first car that I've driven 5 hours straight without feeling any discomfort. I felt like I could have driven this car forever. This Chevy Malibu ended up being exactly what I need. It lacked a little bit of horse power but a perfect car for traveling.
