Captured in May 2019, I had every intention of playing with the angles for the composition and editing of this shot. I had no idea that the car would really play such a role in distorting perception of the gradient of this steep slope in the city. Enjoy!

- for challenge Flickr group 'Macro Mondays', theme: 'Dutch Angle'
In this street scene, the monochromatic tones add a sense of starkness and contrast to the image, emphasising the juxtaposition between the person’s difficult circumstances and the opulence represented by the car. It makes me reflect on the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness and raises questions about social responsibility and compassion in the face of such visible disparities.

Previously unpublished archive shot from June 2019 and a very rare 'hipshot' from me. I almost exclusively shoot through the viewfinder. Enjoy!
I enjoyed preparing this image first view rather simple..... But the combination of angle and shadow.... Took it to another level.

On the 3rd March 2018 we were facing a very different 'Beast from the East' with a blast of cold snowy weather coming in all the way from Siberia.
Enjoy this previously unpublished shot and I wish you all a warm, safe and peaceful weekend. Keep the shutters clicking my Flickr friends.
My heart and my thoughts are with the people of Ukraine, their friends and their families. Peace be with us.

A very old undeveloped reel of film from a camera my daughter had - it must be 55 years old. I am tempted to have it developed...

Black and white re-edit of an old shot from October 2016.
While the focus was a little imperfect, and some motion blur was evident, I just loved the mood and feeling of the shot so much that I kept it.
For a less than perfect focus you can sometimes 'force' the shot to work with a high contrast edit with added grain. I sometimes have to remind myself that street photography does not have to be technically perfect. Wishing you all a fantastic weekend of photography ahead.
Enjoy!
The shadows and line here were too abundant not to enjoy them in composing - and processing - this shot. Happy Sliders Sunday :-)
I call this, can't hold the camera straight angle! Because that is usually what happens to my photos when I am out and about and then I have to go to Lightroom to straighten them. Couldn't believe I got to do this on purpose! I call this shot, "light on the horizon" and I created it with a handful of beads and some sparkly paper.

Colour re-edit of a shot from April 2017 that I remember well. A taxi full of girls that were, shall we say a little worse for a bottle or two, with one screaming out of the window to photograph her as the taxi drove on by. Of course I was happy to oblige and capture this just before the traffic lights changed and they drove off into the city. The 'Dutch Angle' was a crop in post for a more pleasing composition, nothing more. Enjoy!
