You expect to see pools like this in Yellowstone , but not in the picturesque Derbyshire Peak District. There is one blackened tree that stands up through the deluge of lime. The drying crystals of lime build up intricate walls that backfill with milky water to create a bizarre landscape.

We're waiting for the big wind and rain storm predicted to hit the southwest coast of British Columbia soon, which will probably bring some .... drowning trees. Created from scratch.

Thankfully we have had a few weeks of dry weather but when I took this photo, it was cold, raining and windy. This little guy however didn't seem to mind and was running and bucking around with the other calves until he spotted me.

Usually I try to avoid posting photographs of the same subject in the same setting but at the moment I think I'm ready for a break. Therefore one from the archives.

Won't you drag the lake and bring me home again?

Through some relational turmoil years back an idea of how to portray the view of drowning from above, yet connected to it, and at the same time lend a mild feeling of that experience without actually , of course, drowning. Mid turmoil felt exactly that way for a while.

 

Feel free to write what you feel when you look at it. For me, my throat tightens up and I feel suffocated.

 

No layers, filters or add on's , just a light , camera , a lens and what is seen here. Micro Nikkor 55mm 3.5 ai.
