I tried to draw a bird in my journal this morning, and found my line memory was weak…it has been maybe two years since I drew a bird. lol So this one is pathetic. I'm going to try to draw one bird a day between now and the end of the year…lol It can only help!

My boyfriend, Terry, was being silly yesterday and said “… With his Bare hands” when describing an earlier situation he had witnessed. We were sober, but the giggles led us to wanting to see the man with “Bear Hands”. And Terry just had to have me doodle that image… There ya have it.
In April 2009 I took the intensive Drawing On The Right Side of the Brain Class. Here is the sighting exercise. While drawing this, I found myself constantly correcting the shadows, until I realized I was actually chasing sun over the hours. I finally dug these out and properly scanned them.

I saw this guy sitting outside a cafe on Brunswick st, and just had to ask for a portrait. He asked me what to do, and I said "take the biggest drag you can"... The man did well.

There was a brief discussion about how big a pint was in milliliters, until someone pulled out a phone and discovered that an American pint is smaller than a British pint, at which point the group teased me a little. But later on, when they realized I had finished my pint before any of them, they decided I was all right after all.
I enjoyed hanging out with them this week. Next time I find myself in Australia, I know I'll have people.

It's a copy of his "splotch" I printed. I then draw the "monster" with micron pen and white gel pen.
