How to Draw:

Step 1: Most likely you will find that one of your co-workers has drawn a penis on your paper while you were in the bathroom... or maybe you doodled this because you couldn't think of what to draw.

This was taken when Holly was still in the Chemo phase of her Breast Cancer battle.

Which she won, by the way. She is now cancer free.

Holly's carotid artery had a catheter..A "Port". Every trip to the hospital included blood work. Then the cancer killing drugs were pumped in through the same hole.

To Draw by Olimpia Zagnoli

Step 1: Draw three circles. One each for the head, shoulders, and hip. This should put it into the pose you desire for the cat. Remember to draw lines in the head to angle the face the way you desire.

Step 2: Outline the circles as well as drawing ears. Draw the front legs. Also draw a line to represent the tail.

Step 3: Erase the circles and add details such as the face. Draw the back legs and remember to finish the tail.

ADVERTISING BY ARTISTS is an international print-media project conceived to draw attention to Art Metropole's online presence and services - as well as a vehicle for the selected artists to express their own ideas. Over the coming 15-months, we look forward to challenging the conventions of advertising with pure imagination. The rules? Each ad-work must include Art Metropole's logo and website address... the rest is... art. Welcome to Art Metropole.

Abney Park Cemetery in Stoke Newington, north-east London was opened as a cemetery in 1840 and is one of the 'magnificent seven' of great Victorian London cemeteries.

Now part of a growing set: www.flickr.com/photos/barryslemmings/sets/72157617149500434/

It was planned as a non-demoninational garden cemetery drawing non-conformists such as the Congregationalists. It also had strong links with the Quakers who also ran a Quaker girls' college on the same site. Several leading Abolitionists are buried here while Abney Park later found favour with senior members of the Salvation Army including General Booth and his family.

Much neglected after the war it presents a sharp contrast to the more neatly manicured environs of the City of London Cemetery in East London. Many of the trees have run wild and damaged some graves while other graves are in a state of collapse. The church at the centre of the site is ruined but still interesting while the cemetery draws courting couples of all genders and sexualities, people who are 'care in the community' and anyone who wants a peaceful few minutes away from the noise and bustle of the nearby main road.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abney_Park_Cemetery for more about the history.

It is now used as a nature reserve and is run by the Abney Park Trust but private burials still continue on family plots with the permission of the local council.

Laura being distracted by Draw Something. Such a fun game, although I'm not sure how so many people can stand using it on their phones. It's so much easier on an iPad with a stylus.

Yesterday morning, I drew the 8 of Pentacles in the reversed position. (Full disclosure: I had a crazy day today and skipped pulling a card at all, let alone blogging it! Sorry!)

In the 8 of Pentacles we see a man with a lot of his work surrounding him, and he is still working on another piece. Regardless of the reversal, I think the image Pamela has depicted in this card completely and utterly describes my day on the 25th. I worked fastidiously on tax receipts (it's that time of year again!) and helped my boss put together a document that was highly time-sensitive and we worked right until the very second we needed to submit it. I strongly identified with the figure depicted in the card yesterday, so I was quite appreciative of my later social outing last night (went to see Shutter Island with a friend) and enjoyed a well-deserved day-off today (even if it did start in the dentist's chair- eep!).
