Wildflowers run riot between the vine rows at a Texas Hill Country vineyard. Orange cosmos, yellow blooms and a few bold pink zinnias crowd the foreground, sunflowers lean in from the left, and the vineyard rows lead off toward a stormy sky. I reworked this one in a painterly style to bring out the dreamy, impressionist feel of the garden.
So love to watch the sun set over Kaho'olawe from Po'olenalena Beach in Wailea on the beautiful island of Maui. Now ready for the test, can you pronounce these crazy looking Hawaiian words? Hint, the ' mark tells you that you should pronounce both of the vowels either side of it.
The valley disappears into storm haze below, framed by slopes wearing every shade of spring — rust, gold, and green all catching the last bit of light before the clouds close in. One of those Highland Scenic Highway moments where the weather becomes as much the subject as the mountains themselves.

The firmament above the ancient citadel is a roiling ocean of molten bronze and tarnished gold, where the clouds weave a tapestry of impending storm and divine judgment. The colossal cathedrals, carved from the very bones of the earth, rise like obsidian titans against the dying radiance of the sun. There is a sacred weight in the atmosphere, a silence only broken by the ghosts of history that tread upon the iron rails and the worn cobblestones. Here, the architecture does not merely stand; it reigns over the souls who wander like ephemeral embers through the deepening gloom.
The warm glow of the lanterns begins to pierce the shadows, casting long, spectral fingers across the bridge as the world prepares for its descent into the eternal night. Every archway and every jagged spire is a testament to an age of iron and faith, a fortress of memory resisting the relentless tide of time. As the light fades into a somber, ocher embrace, the city becomes a labyrinth of dreams and stone, where the past is more alive than the present, and every silhouette tells a tale of glory, sorrow, and unyielding majesty.

Dramatic clouds sweep across Goblin Valley State Park, Utah, while the strange mushroom-shaped hoodoos rise from the desert floor beneath a turbulent sky.
These formations, locally known as “goblins,” were sculpted by differential erosion of Entrada Sandstone, gradually creating the distinctive caprock shapes that give the valley its otherworldly appearance

Recently I was fortunate enough to visit the Philippine Islands. The small town of El Nido is surrounded by Mountains of Volcanic origin. The bay is full of boats which during the day take tourists to various beaches, secret lagoons, diving and various other locations and activities.

A line of intense late‑winter showers passed over the Oosterschelde, creating dramatic skies and turbulent seas. In the distance, the wind turbines at Neeltje Jans rise against the stormy backdrop, with the Oosterscheldekering just visible beneath the heavy clouds.

Musikene, Donostia — shot for this week's 52 Frames "Distortion" challenge, Laowa 9mm pressed nearly against the black lacquer facade and tilted back until the whole building reads more like a shard than a structure.
Overcast skies gave me long streaking clouds instead of drama-by-sunset, which ended up working in the frame's favor — those diagonal lines running through the sky almost read as motion, like the building's mid-fall rather than just leaning.
Shot, culled, and edited same-day under a hard deadline. Sometimes the tightest turnaround produces the frame you're happiest with.

A small creek runs through a surreal scene of dead lodgepole pines near a hydrothermal area that looks as if they are wearing “bobby socks.” The dead trees soak up the mineral-laden water. When the water evaporates, the minerals are left behind, turning the lower portion of the trees white.
