The full moon did finally appear, but this was the photo I liked most of all the ones I took :)

This afternoon's sky. We are expecting high winds and rain this evening. As the clouds moved in a brief moment of sun was seen.
Still grab a photo or as in this case two. A stitch of two pics taken between Long Rock and Marazion and looking towards Penzance. Those clouds didn't spill a drop off rain, just passed over...
I have a big apology to make here but much as I am thankful for all your lovely comments on my poppy shot I shall be removing it from my photo stream. I never liked it as much as other poppy shots but was won over by the the sweet little girl and her mum but once I saw it on my iPad, although it was not oversaturated just the beautiful bright day it was - I am not happy with it and the border is too big and it just offends my eye every time I open my iPad. I may alter the border first and do a swap to see if that helps but it’s causing me to flinch all the time lol….
We can all make mistakes after all. In the case of this two shot Pano I actually had the sweep of the whole right hand curve of the beach but could simply not get it too align in photoshop as I still don’t have an L bracket for my tripod. All the fittings including an L bracket and half a dozen tripod plates are in my Amazon basket but cannot find a ball head that allows these to fit my tripod. I really do have to change my tripod soon methinks as I am hopeless at keeping the horizon level as I pan…
La tempête africaine couve à l'horizon lorsqu'une percée de lumière dorée vient l'éclairer ce grand mâle sur un ciel d'orage menaçant et sombre.
An African storm is brewing on the horizon when a burst of golden light illuminates the large male against a dark, menacing storm sky.
The lighthouse at Spurn Point
This is the lighthouse at Spurn Point, near Kilnsea, as seen from the beach.

“Should we continue to look upwards? Is the light we can see in the sky one of those which will presently be extinguished? The ideal is terrifying to behold... brilliant but threatened on all sides by the dark forces that surround it: nevertheless, no more in danger than a star in the jaws of the clouds.”
― Victor Hugo, Les Misérables

A moody moment at the coast of Westkapelle, just before the rain hit. The red-and-white lighthouse stands tall against a sky full of drama—dark clouds rolling in, wet pavement reflecting the tension. I love how the scene captures that quiet pause before nature unleashes its power. Zeeland’s coastline never disappoints when it comes to atmosphere and contrast.
A striking landscape photograph capturing a vibrant sunset over a majestic mountain twilight.
A layered composition, with the silhouetted mountains forming the foreground and the dramatic sky dominates the majority of the frame. The horizon line is relatively low, emphasizing the vastness and color of the sky.
The color palette is the most prominent feature, characterized by a stark contrast between the warm, bright orange and red hues near the horizon and the cool, deep purple and blue tones of the clouds above and the mountains below. This creates a visually dynamic and saturated effect.
The lighting is natural as it was shot during twilight which backlights the clouds and creates the intense colors and the strong silhouettes of the landmasses.
The mountains are reduced to dark, untextured shapes, which draws the viewer's eye upwards to the colorful sky. The dramatic colors and serene landscape contribute to an atmospheric and idyllic mood.
The past couple of days have been frosty and foggy around here. I quite enjoyed seeing the mist and the dramatic sky.
I have spent the last few days in Yzerfontein which is a small town on the West Coast of South Africa. It is about 1 hour drive from Cape Town. It seems that every night is the perfect sunset. These are some rock pools on the beach. The beaches are long and sandy. We saw a whale family, dolphins and seals and lots of amazing bird life like pelicans. it truly is just beautiful.

I took this photo on the coastal walk between Little Kingsleys Beach and Eddie's Beach. Turquoise ocean, blue skies and orange lichen covered rocks - what more could you want!
Thanks for the visit and comments - always appreciated.
