The Cathedral of Roskilde, or Roskilde Domkirke, captured in a dramatic misty weather.
--Jacob Surland
From a pastel sky from nowhere came a wild colored sunset fire of the end of Autumn verses the new ice of the start of Winter..
We continue to have dramatic skies, as we move from rain to sunshine and back again.
I'm a huge fan of the skies and cloud!
Here is another different view from Tomahawk Beach. The rocks here were like walking on a pile of angry razor blades. They were deceptively sharp, loose, and full of hidden rock pools. Every step was a gamble, especially with the wind enthusiastically trying to blow me into the icy embrace of the cold dark Tasman Sea.
I loved every wobbly, wind-blasted second of it.
In other news, my wife just told me she broke my favourite lamp. I'll never be able to look at her in the same light again ;)
Happy Friday all! Thanks to everyone who takes the time to comment on my photos, they are greatly appreciated!

When I saw this rock I thought he looked lonely at first. A single rock resting on an empty stretch of beach.
But then I thought, maybe he wasn't so lonely after all. Perhaps he was among family. A lot of family! Around him lay millions of grains of sand, tiny ancestors shaped by time and the ocean.
He was just the youngest member of an ancient family gathering, listening happily as the waves washed over them and the grains of sand told old stories.
I hope your week is going well. Thanks for the visit & any comments, always appreciated.

A beautiful sunset at Llantwit Major beach on the Vale of Glamorgan coast in South Wales. It was blowing a gale and very hard to stand up, had to keep a careful hand on the tripod!

Some say, "The biggest cliche in photography are sunrise and sunset" ... :) I say, sunrises and sunsets showcase the wonderful mother nature at its best, so I enjoy capturing them.
J'ai tendance à poster des photos un peu lugubres en ce moment, donc je me suis dit "quoi de mieux pour finir la semaine que le Fort de Capucins ?!"
Bon vendredi, enfin le week-end...

For those who follow me on Facebook, this shot here should be very familiar. I posted some weeks ago in Facebook a picture made with my iPhone showing my gear in front of this wonderful scene. That evening I was again with our dog in our woods having a walk before the rain came. And hey … even in the forests of my Hometown Winterthur I can still find magic places! Beauty is everywhere and in everything, you just have to recognize it. That was the lesson I learned that windy evening. And what a wind we had he he he … the wind was really strong and I have been hard pressed to freeze the scene properly. Well, you can still see some branches and leaves blowing and dancing in the wind. But hey, I love this effect in a picture and therefore I wanted to show you this image. I hope you like it.
Thank you for your time and interest in my photos, your visit is most appreciated :-)

A bare tree stands among weathered rocks on the Isle of Skye, with a mountain ridge rising in the distance beneath a textured sky. Photographed in early spring, the landscape still held its muted winter colors and the trees had not yet begun to leaf out. The exposed rock, subdued grasses, and layered clouds capture the rugged character of the Scottish landscape.

A bit more of Little Beach before we shuffle on to the next coastal curiosity.
I love rocks. Let’s talk about rocks — because really, what’s a beach without a generous scattering of ancient, grumpy, foot-stubbing hazards? Each one is a tiny geological memoir: belched out of a volcano, squashed under mountains for a few million years, tumbled through oceans like nature’s own laundry cycle … only to end up here, sunbaking and waiting for some barefoot human to discover them the hard way. What a life these long-lived marvels have had!
I hope you have rockin' Sunday!
