The twin display pairing of P-51D "Twilight Tear" and P-51C "Princess Elizabeth" at the Flying Legends airshow, Duxford, 2006.
These two performed an excellent display and at times were extremely close whilst carrying out their manoeuvres.
I believe that both of these aircraft have now been shipped to the USA.

Photo taken at the Centro Comercial Managua, Nicaragua. As you can tell, many of the signs are from shops that sell fabrics. And they seem all to have owners that have had the shops forever. This here is a nice little original detail that I noticed, stands for displaying the fabrics in an attractive way. Fab.
Centro Comercial Managua was built right after the 1972 earthquake that destroyed the larger part of Managua's old down-town by Lake Managua. It was the first modern US-style half-open, half-covered shopping center ever built in Nicaragua. It consisted of small modules, each with its own rectangular shop sign that could be lighted. It's located close the the residential areas of Altamira and Colonia Centro América, heading towards the Mercado Roberto Huembes. It is a very nice, green, beautiful place, where one can still find small, specialised shops that will never appear in the newer closed shopping malls such as Metro Centro or Galerías Santo Domingo.
The mayor of Managua did a big make-over of the shopping center at the beginning of the 00. I visit this place fairly regurlarly and all off a sudden I realised that all these gorgeous shop signs from the 70s were disappearing at an alarming rate. Whenever a new owner took over a modul, he or she seemed to change to a new "cooler" sign.
So I decided to take my camera and walk around the place - which is fairly big, perhaps around 100 modules - and take a picture of all the old signs that I could find. I think I covered them all, but will re-visit soon to make sure. I thank all the shop-keepers that so nicely let me take the pictures - they too seemed sad to see the old signs go. Most of them have had their shops since the center opened. I also took the opportunity to visually document any other original material artefacts that I could find, like streetlamps and - of course - manhole covers :)
A display from the exhibit in Japan Pavilion at EPCOT Center called "Diamond Warriors." This was one of the last days of operation for the exhibit in 2003.
This is a doll house display from Target that is to be destroyed. I took it home last night - at least some perks of the job. Now I just have to find place to put it. I took off the front plastic cover already so everything is mint and clean inside. I will remove the furniture later so I can fit more dolls in. YAY!!! So if anybody likes it try to go to your Target and ask about it, maybe they will give it away!
So the last few weeks have been super crazy around here preparing for my graduation.
This is the final product, after 3 years of hard work. I had my illustrations hanging up on the wall (31 of them!) as well as my painted skateboard deck, a cuckoo clock that i made and drew on, and a jackalope head that i also made and painted.
I displayed my portfolio on a stack of old suitcases, with my business cards held in a birds nest that i made all finsihed up with some bunting i also made from vintage bias binding and paper with one of my pattern designs printed on it. Three little bunnies watched over my display.

Hot springs are sites where groundwater emerges at the surface and the water is hotter than the human body. In many cases, hot spring water is boiling hot, or close to it. At Yellowstone in Wyoming, most hot spring water precipitates opal (hydrous silica, SiO2·nH2O), resulting in buildups of geyserite, a chemical sedimentary rock. Some Yellowstone hot springs precipitate calcium carbonate (CaCO3). Seen here is a hot spring in Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas. The rocky buildup is calcium carbonate. Chemical sedimentary rocks of calcareous composition formed by hot spring water include "calcareous tufa" and "travertine". I'm not entirely convinced there is a difference - the terms are often used interchangeably. My understanding is that "calcareous tufa" (a horrible term, by the way) is a porous, friable precursor to travertine. Travertine also forms in caves (calcareous speleothem) and at some cold springs.
My understanding is that the original tufa/travertine deposits here have long since been destroyed. The layout of hot springs and the drainage patterns are all artificial. The modification took place to accommodate the need to pipe hot water to nearby bathhouses in early days. Tufa/travertine deposits now at the site are probably all secondary.

Thermal Cascade was designed to recreate the natural scene of hot spring water cascading down tufa cliffs. In cool weather the vapor is reminiscent of the clouds that once billowed from open springs along the lower slope.

Tufa Terraces
Before the bathhouse era, this lower side of the mountain was covered with massive terraces of tufa (travertine). Tufa is mostly calcium carbonate, which precipitates out as the spring water cools. In 1834 a British geologist observed that “The travertine . . . sometimes presents abrupt vertical faces of from 15 to 25 feet high.” Tufa formations are still visible along this trail.
After a short ascent past tufa outcroppings and the Thermal Cascade, Tufa Terrace Trail crosses the Grand Promenade. From there you can reach the Peak Trail and continue up Hot Springs Mountain.

I bought this metal star from Ross for $4.99. Now it serves as a display for the soldered pendants that I can't seem to stop making! Oh and it looks cute too.
A collection of tickets, flyers and other collected bits from the past few years, missing quiet a few things, but I think I know where more are so will keep adding to it!
I made this using random things gathered from around the house. The large basket held my fruit in the kitchen, the smaller one was in storage, and I had cards displayed on the fanned holder. I stuck an empty plastic container in the bottom basket, covered it with fabric then added the smaller one. It made the perfect spot to put the picture holder and some wrapped candies. I used mini binder clips with ribbon on them to clip the earrings to the baskets.

A rocket display dominates the center of the produce department. Hundreds of customers welcomed the Defense Commissary Agency’s newest commissary Feb. 8 at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans. The grand opening featured a mini-seafood festival that highlighted the agency’s focus on adding Gulf seafood as a choice for commissary shoppers.

Using my tree made another year, I typed out lots of christmas greetings in different languages and placed around it. I also used a display taken from the "instant displays" site and placed around the board. This is a display passed by the whole school going up to assembly.
