Lunken Airport, located southeast of downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, was dedicated in 1925 and served commercial aircraft into the 1940s before the establishment of the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport. American Airlines had its early beginnings at Lunken, and over the years, visitors ranged from Charles Lindbergh to the Beatles, who arrived for a concert in 1964. The airport currently serves private and corporate aircraft. This lobby display features photos and history of the airport, and I really liked the model of the plane circling the globe at the top of the display.

My shadowbox is finally up on the wall. I put two coats of wood varnish on it and got lazy. Some of my favourite polly pocket-esque figurines are on display. I want to get another shadowbox to put all of my polly pocket figures in. Rollover to see some notes.

Here we had two of the juveniles putting on an impressive aerial display today. Afraid the quality isnt too good as they were a little distant for my 300mm with a 2x on the canon 1DX2.

"The display commemorates the 75th Anniversary of the Spitfire entering RAF service, in 1939, a few months before World War II. It also commemorates the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day landings, 6th June 1944, the plane wearing the Allied recognition markings, of white painted stripes on vertical and horizontal surfaces, to help prevent the threat of friendly fire during, and after, the Normandy landings."
