The big melt has finally begun, and I feel confident that summer is just a few days away. Doc had to wade through water just to feed the birds this morning - but we're not complaining.

This tropical looking scene is the Ponce De Leon Historical Park in Punta Gorda, southwestern Florida. The yacht is headed from Charlotte Harbor into a canal leading to the large network of sailboat canals that make up Punta Gorda Isles.

The leaves of the Amaranth were backlit and quite vibrant to begin with, so I couldn't help but work towards a dramatic finish. As for the caption ... well, that is simply what came to mind! After all, Slider's Sunday gives us permission to go over-the-top! Happy Slider's Sunday! HSS!

[Explored]

I have been watching this heron for well over an hour when all of the sudden it performed a smoothly choreographed dance routine. Later on the reason surfaced its head... a large fish (carp). Obviously too much for a heron to handle.

This image is a compilation of 4 elements:

- The main image is the frog on the lily-pad(s)

- Added are the dragonfly on the reed, the fly and the snake

You decide the outcome of this predator/pray scenario in what is a typical day in the marsh.

Tiny half inch spruce cones, lit up the forest with their rosy glow. Now the squirrels are taking them home for winter.

For "Slider's Sunday" - processed to the max.
