Sitting in the warmth of our local lodge, and looking out on Tolsona Lake - I noticed that the metal sculpture of a proud peacock was half buried in the snow. It kind of reminded me of the old saying; "He's like an ostrich with his head in the sand". Only in this case - his head is in the snow.

Four more inches of the white stuff has been forecasted for our area. I sure hope the weather trackers are wrong.

Hi everyone, time to show more of the 2016 Sydney's Vivid light festival.

The theme this year was our indigenous people.

The Sails are illuminated with the work of six Indigenous artists, celebrating the celestial Songlines of Australian Aboriginal astronomy.

I loved this year's display, seeing the Opera house covered in aboriginal art was something very special.

Shanghai in the fog.

We did not have the best weather throughout most of our trip.

This created a bit of a photographic challenge.

On this particular evening, Shanghai's business district Skyline was in the clouds most of the time.

A bit of fun and practise with Photoshop on this one.

To create this image I had to double the size of the background to shift the ducks to the right, while reducing the size of this young bald eagle to half the original size. The intent is to engage the viewer into a birds' eye-view of this unfolding drama.

This drawing or sketch was inspired by and dedicated to Chrissy who has moved to Utah and fallen in love with the mountains there. I created the sketching or drawing effect using a technique taught by Colin at www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXk3EJ6-Awg. The original photo of Chrissy can be seen in the first comment below. The mountain scene in the Kluane National Park and Reserve of Canda was captured by Kalen Emsley. Her beautiful image can be seen at unsplash.com/photos/Bkci_8qcdvQ. In addition to these two images, I used a third one to add texture (which is predominant in the sky) and applied a couple of gradient maps along the way.
