I found this little dead leaf still hanging on an alder tree near our cabin. With all of the wind we have had recently - I don't know how it hung on. While a dead leaf is not necessarily a thing of beauty - with a little Photoshop work he looked a bit more pleasing to the eye.

I had a bag of birds. They were making a lot of noise in the house, so I took them to the park and let them out. I think they are happy now.

Happy 20th Birthday Flickr

I took the original photo of a 'blue' orchid and post processed it 'pink'.

I flipped the image and combined the two, making it look like a reflection.

A set of colored thread on spools, with expressionist photo manipulation using Topaz Studio 2 to create a lively painterly effect.

Hello Everyone,

Zinnias are one of my favourite cutflowers and the show of zinnias was terrific this year! (They like heat)! While out walking, I spotted a house that sported zinnias along the sidewalk, around the home, along the driveway and just about everywhere! I didn't have my camera so I used my phone for the shot. Then, I couldn't help but have a little fun with these already joyful flowers.

Edited with effects in Topaz Studio. HSS! Happy Sliders Sunday!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for leaving a comment! I do love hearing from you!

I spent several years living in the rain forest of Southeast Alaska. In this image you see a forest service cabin on Admiralty Island. There is a brown bear for every square mile on the island, for a population of about 1,600 bears. That is more than the whole lower 48 US states combined. While Doc and I had a few close encounters - no bear ever became aggressive.

Polar Bear fantasy,

used: Redfield, Filter Forge, Photoshop

I was playing around with "metals" for theme for another group - when I veered off course - and ended up with my aluminum watch bezel looking like a space craft. So here it is posted for "Sliders Sunday".

HSS! to all of my "Slider" friends!

(A mind is a terrible thing to waste, especially when combined with cabin fever. Hahaha!)

Photo manipulation using Topaz Studio. Visual goals: to simplify shapes, colors and lines, to strengthen boundaries around main shapes, and to lighten the overall image while maintaining the detail of pumpkins, boxes, and writing.

Doc has downed a lot of firewood over the years - always being sure to harvest the trees that are old and about to fall down on their own. When you are young, you harvest trees furthest from your cabin door, thereby leaving the trees nearest your cabin for old age, at which time you are running out of both strength and stamina. HSS!

I sought the wood in winter

When every leaf was dead;

Behind the wind-whipped branches

The winter sun set red.

The coldest star was rising

To greet that bitter air,

The oaks were writhen giants;

Nor bud nor bloom was there.

The birches, white and slender,

In deathless marble stood,

The brook, a white immortal,

Slept silent in the wood.
