SSR vintage locomotives, GM 10 and GM 27, running as train D273s are seen working through Callington, 54 km to the South of Adelaide, South Australia, on Friday 16th of February 2024.
The twin GMs worked the AK82 Inspection Train the day before to the Islington Railway Workshops, six kilometres north of Adelaide, and returned to Victoria light engine this morning.
GM44, GM37, CLF1 and CLF2 on Patrick's 5MA3, slide down the grade towards the Sleeps Hill Tunnel.
Although freshly repainted in the Port Augusta workshops, GM44 is yet to receive its ASR decals.

Normaal rijdt deze cargo langs lijnen 13-27-53-35 naar Aken.
Maar vandaag was er nog eens uitzonderlijk dikke dieselpower te beleven op mijn tuinspoor.
Omdat de koper trein langs lijn 15 werd gestuurd!
Deze kopertrein had ook een wolkendek op sleep.
Want gans de dag was er zon en vijf minuten na de passage was de zon terug van de partij.
De bovenleidingspalen staan er al,maar de wasdraad moet nog opgehangen worden!

07.10.2024 Chicago Union Station (IL)
Machen wie weiter mit Amerika am Nachmittag des 07.10.2024 in Chicago. Wir sahen in der Abstellgruppe eine weitere Heritage Lok von Metra stehen also gingen wir Richtung Union Station da diese dort früher oder später austauchen würde. Auf dem Weg dort hin sahen wir noch eine Amtrak Heritage P42 abgestellt im Yard stehen. Nicht optimal aber meine erste Amtrak Heritage. Nach fast 2 Stunden fuhr dann endlich Metra 211 Burlington Route in den Bahnhof ein.

C510, C507, C509 and C504, on CA15, an empty coal train from Kooragang , descend the grade through Eastwood and are heading to Clarence Colliery on the Main West.

"Vintage Rail Journeys". The LVR's 4464, 4473 and 4702, on 8L01, are heading a train of 12 Southern Aurora cars to Casino.
Here, the train is charging through Meadowbank, biting into the long grade to Hornsby, having just crossed the John Whitton Bridge.

Traag maar zeker trekt de HLD7753 de HLE2143 , 3 M4 rijtuigen en helemaal achteraan de HLD5519 mee op het laatste ritje van TSP's Spoorfeest 2024 mee , de trein is net het voormalige ( reeds afgebroken ) station van Tertre gepasseerd en zal weldra de oude spoorbrug over het kanaal Nimy-Blaton bereiken...

42101 waits in the loop, while the passengers take in the view from the time honoured lookout. 13th October, 2016.
Summit Tank was, in the days of steam, quite a busy yard. Steam locomotives, upon completing the ascent of the steep grade from Unanderra, would need to take water for the next legs of the trip to Robertson and Moss Vale. This water came from a dam between here and Mount Murray, about 4Km down from the latter. That dam still survives, but any surviving traces of the pipe that bore the water down to the tank and column was finally obliterated in a major perway upgrade some decades ago.
Banking locomotives, that had assisted trains up the 1 in 30 from Unanderra, could be serviced and turned on a 60ft turntable, to provide braking assistance down the Mountain to the coast.
While passenger trains were being serviced, the passengers would amble along a path to a nearby lookout to admire the view to the Illawarra Coast from this high vantage point east of the Macquarie Pass. The passengers of 3801 Limited's Cockatoo Run, which is the only regular passenger service to travel this way, are still invited to enjoy the view as the train will usually stop in the loop at Summit Tank. In this picture, some passengers can be seen returning to the train from the lookout.
Now, all that is left is a small platform, a decent crossing loop and a local control panel and radio antenna for train operations.
