Bij het huiswaarts rijden van reis tijdens het festival op de Bocq toch maar even de afrit genomen en enkele uurtjes genomen om wat plaatjes te schieten. Vooral dan van de 5404. De rest waren maar carnavalssamenstellingen ...
De loc werd hier door de 5205 de helling opgeduwd...
The train was racing the setting sun to find a spot where sunlight might still be coming through the distant ranges to the West. Near the top of Lue Bank we found it, a gap in the ranges where the sun shone through like a spotlight. There was a mad scramble to get out of the train and form a photoline as the train reversed, then charged back towards us. By the time everyone had climbed back into the train, the sun had set!

Some reflection in the Nemadji River this morning as today's M-SUPNTW rolls over the bridge in Boylston.
This is the Second Division of the "Elvis Express", bound for Parkes, that had passed through as an XPT sometime earlier.
My car thermometer claimed a cosy 34°C here, on a day of quite variable weather; mist, drizzle, heat (right here), storms and a pea-souper enveloping us from Lithgow to Valley Heights, as we fled home.

The ARHS, ACT Branch, had run the train to Sydney on January 31st, so that the passengers could enjoy the New Years Eve fireworks on Sydney Harbour.
Here on the following day, the train is nearing the end of its journey home as it charges the bottom of the grade through the old Mt Fairy yard. 1st January, 2015, Canberra Branch, NSW.

Tijdens een bezoek aan de collega's in Ronet stond er ook net een trein van Infrabel klaar om te vertrekken. Bij het vertrek van de trein is dan ook even twijfel of het geen stoomtrein is. Met een prachtig geluid laat de diesellocomotief nog even duidelijk weten dat hij geen bovenleiding nodig heeft.

James Gray's restored 42101, here awaiting a full repaint, worked a load trial to Moss Vale via Wollongong on the Cockatoo Run timetable, and also delivered three NAM sleeping cars (owned by the late Ken Butt) and bequeathed to the Canberra Railway Museum. These were collected at Moss Vale by 4403, while the 421/45 and three Cockatoo Run cars, shown here, returned to Sydney via Robertson.

Normal day as usual, but near the Kuopio station, construction work continues as the rail bridge is going to be switched to a new one. Traffic still continues to go as always, like in the case of the Dv12 pair that is passing the changes from above.
