General Magic (generalmagicthemovie.com) is a feature documentary directed by Sarah Kerruish scheduled to be release in September 2016. It is the story of General Magic - a company that was the darling of Silicon Valley in the early 1990s - the place where every coder and computer engineer wanted to work. It's DNA can be found in many of the modern tech devices that are omnipresent today such as the iPod (Tony Fadell), the iPhone, Android Phones (Andy Rubin), and the Apple Watch (Kevin Lynch). #GeneralMagic #RATech

Alphatrak lancing device balancing on the edge of a windowsill. We've been using this a lot this week as Cookie cat's glucose levels have been acting unusually, so we've been tracking it more regularly than usual. He's so well behaved, rarely makes a fuss even though we've been pricking his ear every two hours for most of the waking days this week.

I just took this picture because I liked the colorful keyboard and clear blue ball input elements. I don't know the application he's using, but I'm guessing it's some sort of HDTV compositing/editing/color correcting software.
An interface design for a portable tv device. Bring back the 80s, its been a while since the idea of portable tv on the move became a reality but this is a far cry from the grainy black and white devices of 1980s.
Having previously worked with Mediafly on designing their media sharing site for podcasts. They approach us with a brief to design an interface for this new generation of devices which are currently hitting the market.
The screen shot here shows all the windows open with their content displayed. The top section collapses down to the grey bar. It reveals the currently playing episode shows icon, tile, episode title, brief descriptor copy and options to add to your Mediafly account areas.
The bottom section reveals the shows available in your Meadifly subscribed account, displaying icons for video or audio, status on download - downloading ready to download. There is the ability to scroll left and right through the various categories and down through all the subscribed shows. Beside the my favorites tab is the option to flip to other area of new shows categories of shows.
The final design required elements that would be fast to load, easy to overlay moving footage and wouldn't require loads of images to be uploaded before the device is ready to watch. A compact space with lots of information to be displayed was a tough challenged, but we feel this solution addressed the clients concerns and provided a visually interesting and accessible product for the consumer.

Evening light begins to fade at NASA's Dryden Flight Research Facility (later redesignated Armstrong Flight Research Center), Edwards, Calif., as technicians begin the task of mounting the Space Shuttle Atlantis atop NASA's 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (NASA 911) for the ferry flight back to the Kennedy Space Center, Fla., following its STS-44 flight 24 November-1 December 1991. Post-flight servicing of the orbiters, and the mating operation is carried out at Dryden at the Mate-Demate Device, the large gantry-like structure that hoists the spacecraft to various levels during post-spaceflight processing and attachment to the 747.

Locking wheel boot devices are illegal in Minneapolis, except for government entities. Minneapolis 311 wasn't able to tell me why this vehicle was booted. There were no citations on the windshield, no warning sticker on the driver's side window, and the vehicle's registration was current.

I found this GPS tracking device under my car. An Innocent man. Never arrested for a crime I NEVER DID. When I found this under my car I knew I would never believe in true freedom in America ever again. I lost everything I had built up in my life. All because a narcissist man loved to fuck with me.

I know it's not a great picture. I had my wide angle lens on, and this woman was pretty far out in the water, so I had to crop, and crop again to get close enough to see her, and the picture lost a lot of quality in the translation, but I think it's a funny kind of picture, and I like it. I know all about those natural flotation devices. I have a pair of my own.
