designed as a t-shirt, then later tweaked to be a logo - the name rather than the figure. I still remember doing it - and repositioning the letters - all done with white paper, black gouache and a brush! And letraset.
My first professional job at end of college (about 1985). These days could probably have made a new font, in those days there were 2 computers in the graphics department so I hadn't used one. I had designed some costumes for them as a student. I went on to do more costumes.
They gave me a photographic commision many years later that suited my low light favourite way of working. And then I did a residency with Richard Powell and the dancers in the then Centre for Visual Arts (2000ish) - it was a challenging and interesting week, I enjoyed working with Richard and the dancers.
