On Sunday, Nov. 2, current and prospective families were invited to experience CSG in a whole new way: All Girl, By Design. This innovative event featured departmental displays with extension activities, divisional and musical presentations, and much more!
At my first apartment, I decided to get Willow Ware plates and bowls. It's a pattern that can grow with you--cheap versions are $3 a plate; antiques can be hundreds of dollars. I have long liked the look of it and I knew that the plate told a story in its design, first heard a thousand years ago. I just know looked it up and there are star-crossed lovers, a chase, a hide out, arson, murder, and eternal happiness (read more about it here).
I never knew there was such drama on my dinnerware!

The Fairfax County Exceptional Design Awards Program is sponsored by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and administered by the County's Department of Planning and Zoning in cooperation with the County Architectural Review Board and the Northern Virginia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
The purpose of the awards program is to recognize outstanding achievement in the total design of a building and the site and to create an awareness of superior planning and design projects. This year's winners will be recognized by the Board of Supervisors meeting at a meeting date to be determined.

Several of these benches found in conference center break area. Notice the hard leather area, works. Notice the stainless steel type area right where the human bottom would be positioned, ice cold and very uncomfortable.
Most people sat on the edge (like this guy) in order to avoid the cold steel, others took the beating and risked pneumonia.

Fashion & Design Festival
The Fashion & Design Festival celebrates creativity and culture through a major outdoor event in the heart of downtown Montreal. This one-of-a-kind occasion provides an inside look at the world of fashion and design through a diversified program of activities.
Every year, many well-known Canadian designers, retailers, up-and-coming creators and international fashion icons will share their art and vision with the public. The activities include fashion shows, live creative sessions, design showcasing and musical performances. The Fashion & Design Festival’s presence will also be felt around the city with novel exhibits, original installations and unique experiences open to all.
With 50 shows, as much as 300 participants and 550,000 visitors expected, the Fashion & Design Festival is a leading platform for fashion, design, music, beauty and shopping trends.

Le Festival Mode & Design célèbre la créativité et la culture grâce à un événement d’envergure à ciel ouvert en plein cœur du centre-ville de Montréal. Ce rendez-vous unique au monde offre une expérience décloisonnée des univers de la mode et du design en proposant une programmation des plus variées.
Chaque année, de nombreux designers canadiens de renom, détaillants, créateurs émergents et icônes internationales de mode y partagent leur art et leur vision avec le grand public.
