A few months back we were asked by Gestalten if we would like to contribute to a new bicycle culture and design book, we jumped at the chance! and are very proud to annouce that the book is finished and is due for release here in the UK this month. The name of the book is Velo: Bicycle Culture and Design Book. Edited by R. Klanten / S. Ehmann and published by Gestalten.
Velo introduces a wild bunch of passionate cyclists – frame builders, urban planners, artists, photographers, and those who ride professionally – who are making an impact. They are not only shaping styles, but promoting cycling as a primary form of transport. The book also explores the aesthetic of today’s cycling culture and presents custom-made frames and art bikes as well as a selection of contemporary illustration and design influenced by the cycling movement. Geared toward anyone who has a personal or professional interest in cycling, Velo is the fast lane into a current topic that is both entertaining and socially relevant.

While at Penn State I got the wonderful opportunity to design this postcard. Being a Dad of three girls, I thought deeply about this design. Although my girls were only pre-schoolers at the time, I considered how would they feel if they were being bullied at school and did not want to tell me. (this design along with a suite of accompanying designs was recently awarded with an Inhouse award from Graphic Design USA see the award here ( the website based on the postcard I designed ). Primera sesión de fotos hecha por mi cuenta para la marca de trajes de baño Design Larissa; nervios, miedo, ansiedad... pero con ganas de hacer todo lo mejor posible. Actualmente veo estas fotos y pienso en todos los encuadres diferentes que hubiera hecho, pero que en su momento formo parte de esa experiencia que nos hace evolucionar cada día.
