The Fundacion Portobelo and the Grupo Realce Historico announce that on Saturday, April 27 they will hold the 11th PORTOBELO CONGOS AND DIABLOS FESTIVAL. This is the main event for Panamanian Afro-colonial culture. Without a doubt it’s a major cultural and tourist attraction for locals and foreigners, who fill the streets of the historic town to enjoy the autochthonous manifestations of this area of the province of Colon.
This important folkloric meeting has been confirmed the support of of the Tourism Authority of Panama and the National Institute of Culture, institutions that are once again joining this cultural effort. The festival arose from the concern of local residents to maintain their traditions, and brings indisputable cultural, economic, tourism and image gains for the community of Portobelo, Colon province and the country in general.
This 11th festival is celebrated within the framework of the recent recognition of the Congo culture as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The distinction is not only a matter of national pride: it gives a definitive accolade to a culture previously denigrated and marginalized. Thanks to the persistence of its cultists of all the peoples of the coasts of Colon and beyond, it has remained alive and powerful.

This is an oddball. When total integration beckoned, Treutlen County decided to put the high school in the African-American school. That is very much a rarity. 90+ of the time, the former GIA high school was denigrated to status as a middle or an elementary.
It remains a middle/high.

That is to say, similar to the way individuals with disabilities have been discriminated against and limited based on their inability versus ability -- to assign a false impression of someone's worth in the most degrading or undignified way. Recall when Dan Keplinger (from the film "King Gimp") was told that he couldn't be accommodated for in a public school, or the horrors of institutions such as Willowbrook -- even discrimination against individuals with disabilities on job applications. Policies and attitudes such as this have been in place and marginalize and denigrate an individual's value and dignity, but with a focus on ability versus inability, making accommodations, and realizing that disability is a social construct, the tables can turn.
Text created from C.M. Shaw's "Bernard's Brethren" p. 9 --
A withdrawn, discarded library book from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee that has been repurposed for art.
The painting comes from the altar of the Scuola dei Mercanti, dedicated to Saint Nicholas. The church possessed, among other treasures, a relic of the very popular Saint Lucy. This helps to explain the leading and secondary figures included.
Lotto's career in Venice was considerably hindered by the city's artistic milieu, which was excessively dominated by Titian. Lotto had very few opportunities to make his presence felt and his works were systematically denigrated. This painting, which can now be seen as a fascinatingly poetic creation, especially for the bird's-eye view of the landscape, was pointed to as a reprehensible example of ‘bad painting’.
Sour grapes is the false denial of desire for something sought but not acquired; to denigrate and feign disdain for that which one could not attain. This metaphor originated from the fable The Fox and the Grapes by Aesop, where the protagonist fox fails to reach some grapes hanging high up on a vine, retreats, and says that the grapes are sour anyway.
Taraxia ovata, Onagraceae. Seen on a California Native Plant Society field trip to the the Foote Preserve, a Land Trust of Napa County property, on the western slopes of Mt. George. Napa County.
Lots of the people grouse about how this plant had been transferred from Camissonia to Taraxia, and generally there is a lot of (what I would call) whinging about taxonomic changes that have come into effect in the Jepson Manual 2nd edition (the new manual of the California flora): i.e. "those pesky botanists have mucked up all the names and now we have to learn new ones." These comments are often delivered with a hint of condescension, if not contempt. Well...
I will say this: the taxonomic changes made in Jepson 2 have been in the works for over 20 years, and are the result of painstaking research published and debated by generations of botanists around the world. It may be frustrating to have the generic and family names of familiar plants altered, but isn't it interesting? Isn't it progress? Rather than complaining about the inconvenience, and blaming botanists and taxonomists for their decades of work, people should be excited that our knowledge is now closer to the truth. After all, this plant was ALWAYS a part of THIS lineage; we just hadn't recognized it or named it correctly, presumably. Yes, taxonomy can be subjective, more changes may come, and our knowledge is not perfect or complete, but complaining about or denigrating taxonomic change is analogous to denying climate change research. It's anti-science, and it is unbecoming of educated, progressive people. That's my opinion. Ok I'm probably biased, too. ;-)

Betye Saar created this piece for an open-call exhibition of works depicting important Black figures in history, which was held at Rainbow Sign, a Black cultural center founded and run by Black women in Berkeley from 1971 to 1977. In this shadow box assemblage, Saar gave the mammy figurine guns, empowering her as a revolutionary figure in opposition to the denigrating images that had defined her in the past. A central inspiration in Lava Thomas's curated section, this piece speaks to the emergence of Black feminism, as well as the spaces and communities, like that at Rainbow Sign, that provided the platform for such revolutionary art.

Looking northeastward along the Erie Canal . The Erie Canal was completed in 1825 and was the second-longest canal in the world (after the Grand Canal in China). The canal greatly enhanced the development and economy of many major cities of New York as well as the nation. This was in part due to the new ease of transporting salt and other necessity goods, and industries that developed around those. Construction began in 1817 after proponents of the project gradually wore down its opponents; and it opened on October 26, 1825. The canal has 34 locks with an overall elevation difference of about 565 feet, starting upstream with Black Rock Lock and ending downstream with the Troy Federal Lock. Both locks are owned by the U.S. Government. Political opponents of the canal and of then-New York Governor DeWitt Clinton denigrated it as "Clinton's Folly" or "Clinton's Big Ditch". It was the first transportation system between the east coast of the United States and the western interior that did not require portage. It was faster than carts pulled by draft animals and cut transport costs by about 95 percent. The canal gave New York City's port a strong advantage over all other U.S. port cities and ushered in the state's 19th century political and cultural ascendancy. The canal fostered a population surge in western New York and opened regions to settlement farther west. It was enlarged between 1834 and 1862. The canal's peak year was 1855, when 33,000 commercial shipments took place. In 1918, the western part of the canal was enlarged to become part of the New York State Barge Canal, which also extended to the Hudson River running parallel to the eastern half of the Erie Canal. In 2000, Congress designated the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor to recognize the national significance of the canal system as the most successful and influential human-built waterway and one of the most important works of civil engineering and construction in North America. The canal has been mainly used by recreational watercraft since 1994, although the canal saw a recovery in commercial traffic in 2008. 1100 Marina Pkwy, Macedon, N.Y. 12 September 2012

ONWARDS TO JNUSU ELECTLONS 1998 .
Friends, .
Last year the SFI-AISF sought a mandate from the student community to protect the democratic culture and_ academic In the backdrop of a systematic effort to.
environment of JNU which was under severe threat from the right reactionary forces. curtail the facilities of students by the HRD ministry, UGC and JNU Administration a mandate was S<?UQht to ~nlea~h student struggles under the JNUSU banner privatisatlon and commercialistaion of higher education. The spate of 1nc1dents 1nvolvtng sexual harassment in this campus had made the demand for Gender Sensitisation Committee Against Sexual Harassment (G~CASH) central to our agenda. N:Jove all was the overwhelll_'ing concern to politi~lly and i~ologi?ally defeat ~e communal, ~st1est. ~nd patriarchal forces namely the RSS and ABVP within JNU when our polity and CIVIl soc1ety were falling Prey to the1~ deciSIVe agenda. We believe, through our activities over the past one year through the JNUSU, we have been able to do just1ce to the .
historic mandate of last year's JNUSU elections. .
The SFI-AISF seeks another historic mandate from the conscious and progressive student community of JNU, to cany forward our unfinished agenda, in the forthcoming JNUSU elections. The successful agitation of JNU students fought under the leadership of JNUSU ear1ier this semester, had secured substantial gains for the students community in terms of temporary hostel accommodation, acceptance of the recommendations of the working group for the setting up of the GSCASH and bringing back thR Admission Policy debate in the policy making bodies of JNU. .
The SFI-AISF is committed to continue the struggle in order to consolidate these concrete gains made by the JNU students. Replacing the present decadent Admission Policy by a Progressive Admission Policy which ensures adequate deprivation .
points for all candidates from socially, economically, regionally and gender wise deprived sections with a maximum of 20 .
deprivation points is high on our agenda. The Progressive Admission Policy will also ensure transparency in our Admission process and strengthening of the SFCs to ensure participation of students in the decision making at the Centre Level. The SFI-AISF is also .
committed to the Amendment of the JNUSU constitution to add a section in the Preamble in order to make the JNUSU formally .
committed to gender issues and lay down the modalities for the election of student representatives in the proposed GSCASH. The SFI-AISF will continue with the uncompromising war against privatisatlon of higher education and will fight for more hostels, more .
books and journals and better academic facilities for the students. The struggle against privatisation of higher education necessarily entails and alignment with all democratic struggles against imperialism both economic and cultural, to which the SFI-AISF is fully committed. The progressive and democratic traditions of JNU have been rocked severely, time and again by the ABVP In the recent .
past. Besides resorting to communal and castles! politics, they have repeatedly indulged in lumpenism and atrocities upon fellow .
students especially those belonging to the weaker sections. Realising that the culture of debate and discussion in JNU is by itself a .
check upon the propagation of their reactionary ideology they have deliberately tried to subvert and denigrate democratic .

students, are falling back upon a hate campaign against the Left. .
It is qUite natural for them because it Is the Left which has taken the Initiative to unite all the secular and democratic forces in our country against the Communal and anti-people BJP led Govt. and the RSS menace which is posing a grave threat to the unity and integrity of our country. The unprecedented price rise of vegetables is now being followed by that of salt selling at Rs.50 a Kg and pulses (which constitute the single protein diet for the poorer masses) thus pushing the majority of our people on the verge of starvation. Even this is not preventing this callous Govt. in taking further steps to llberalise our economy. The HRD Ministry is planning to reintroduce the Private Universities Bill as the Self Financing Universities Bill in the winter session of Par1iament (the Indian Express, Nov.1}, which is in total defiance to the strong opposition to the bill from the organised student movement. This bid to pursue pr1vatisation of higher education goes hand in hand with the determined bid by the RSS to 'Hinduise' it too. The RSS-run Vidya Bharati is now after English text books of the CBSE and want the poem 'The Highway .
by Alfred Noyer to be expunged on the grounds that they contain sexual undertones and do not conform with 'Indian Values'..
man'.
As for the objectionable lines, they are : 'One kiss my bonny sweetheart, I'm after a prize tonight'. (Hindustan Times, 1st Nov.). .
.
The BJP led Govt. Has basically opened avenues for the Sangh Parivar to interfere into the form and content of our education and .
introduce their fanatical agenda into it. This fascistic effort has to be fought tooth and nail. .
.
The SFi-AISF urges upon all students of JNU to realize the threat posed by the RSS-BJP to education in general and to .
higher education in particular and to unite and fight against it. The agenda of SFI-AISF provides a vision and direction to the left .
movement in JNU. A conscious effort to revitalise the JNUSU and intensify the struggle on a radical agenda is necessary to fight .
back the onslaught of the right reactionary forces. It is with this conviction that we seek an overwhelming mandate for the SFI-AISF .
in this year's JNUSU from all students of JNU. .

Gay-Satanism paintings Art video Book: Witches at sabbath of Satan. Version 1. No music.
⛥ Gay Satanism Art Journal SatanArt Nr. 28⛥
⸸ The album compiled by Antichrist Slut Sodomia ⸸
There are many Christian libels written in our world by so-called "researchers" and neo-inquisitors. Their main goal is to convey to the reader the idea that witches' sabbaths were a terrible and disgusting phenomenon. Each of these writers' methods vary, but the result is always the same: denigrating Satanic forums and Satanic revelry among nature and the spirits of the forest. Evil not only arrests, judges, and captures Satanists, but also wages a propaganda war against Satanists and their outdoor picnics. It seems insane for Christians themselves to write such vile things, fabrications, and lies about things that have nothing to do with them. Christian sectarians’ pry into Satanist affairs and chew them over in order to create a propaganda haze of deception for the reader, which is malicious anti-Satanic propaganda. Evil has always tried to pass itself off as good. This is how evil operated in the Dark Ages, the Middle Ages, and in the modern era of information saturation in our world. Christian sectarians have written countless vile books about how to recognize witches, how to kill witches, how to identify Satanists and their secret gatherings, i.e., witches' sabbaths and warlocks. Therefore, I request that all books by Christian sectarians and non-Satanists about Satanism and witches' sabbaths, in particular, be considered:
1.profanation,
2.defamatory propaganda by the forces of evil,
3.lies,
4.propaganda against Satanists,
5.the creation of a repulsive image of witches and their sabbaths.
Here is the definition of "witches' coven" from Wikipedia:
Coven is the traditional term for a community of witches who regularly gather to perform rituals at a nocturnal sabbath. In the modern neopagan religion, Wicca is simply a cell, a group of participants. The word coven itself comes from the Latin convenire, meaning "gathering, meeting," which later mutated into the archaic English covin, meaning "deception, mirage." Geoffrey Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales uses the term "covent" to describe a gathering of 13 people. During the witch trials of 1662, the word "covine" was used in court documents to refer to a specific organization of witches. A similar expression, "Covine tree," can also be found in Walter Scott's 1830 work, "Letters on Demonology and Witchcraft." Traditionally, a coven is considered to consist of 13 members, one of whom serves as its leader. However, historically, such a strictly limited number of participants is rarely confirmed by court documents—only occasionally in trials conducted by the Inquisition. In theory, a coven should consist of six men and six women, preferably in pairs, and a master (High Priest)—however, this is more of a suggestion than a strict rule . For a gay or LGBTQ+ coven, such a binary division between men and women is irrelevant. I would say a Satanic coven should consist of the optimal number of fuckers and bitches so that everyone can comfortably engage in love and Satanism. This is the definition of a coven from Slut Sodomia.
Antichrist Slut Sodomia has done a lot of work creating art albums of paintings of gay Satanism SatanArt, working on compiling this e-book, searching for drawings on the Internet and compiling their descriptions for you. Four reasons to support the author financially:
The first reason is if you share the ideas of Satanism. This book is a guide and grimoire for established Satanists and for people just beginning to gain insight. Let their path be illuminated by my literary work and help them receive the spiritualization of Satan in full, using my grimoire as a navigator.
The second reason - if you think that the book is useful and valuable for members of the gay fraternity, Satanists and the entire LGBTQ+ community - support the author with any donation. The book about gay Satanism exposes the evil of our world and shows why it is the state, religion and the dark herds of evil, selfish, unspiritualized souls that are the main forces of evil in our world. It is not Satan and not man’s spirituality with joy, pleasure, sexual lust that is evil, but evil is located precisely in our world itself. It was evil, in the form of the state and religion, that destroyed Jesus of Nazareth, who was a disciple of Satan, a spiritualized man, and this evil still oppresses your freedom 2000 years later since the life of Jesus of Nazareth in our world.
The third reason - if you want to see a new and expanded version of this book or new books by the author - support the author with any donation. You can make all donations using cryptocurrency - this way you and the author of the book will remain anonymous. What is very important in the world of total censorship and a total ban on freedom of speech throughout the world at the moment on issues that do not coincide with the official propaganda of states and the ideals imposed by these states.
The fourth reason is if you make money from my literary work by selling it.

Don't get sucked in by the Glencoe Visitor Centre if you are looking for the site of the Massacre at Glencoe of 1692. This isn't to denigrate the visitor centre. It contains important pieces of information and quotes:
– never leave home without a karabiner and a piton
– The MacDonalds of Glencoe had no charter or legal title to lands and held the "le coir a' chlaidheimh" – by the sword
– always in my pocket: a hand lens for looking closely at Glencoe's ancient volcanic rocks and
– Great things are done when men and mountains meet
The monument commemorating the massacre, this monument, is down a little single laned dead end road, Upper Carnoch on the right just before the bridge on the River Coe is crossed by Gleann Comhann. There is no sign to point the way.
Whichever Campbell was responsible for initiation of the massacre is unclear, at least in my understanding. What appears to be irrefutable is that members of the Argyll Regiment, commanded by a Campbell and billeted peacefully with the MacDonalds prior to the massacre, turned on their hosts and slaughtered them. Remember the quote above: "le coir a' chlaidheimh" – by the sword? It seems this judgement depends on who wins and who loses.
It is commonly said that you should never trust a Campbell. The base of the monument carries one last in Scots Gaelic word on the subject "cuimhnich", NEVER FORGET.
I am always amazed and appreciative of the beautiful and useful things that Dalits make. They are the blacksmiths who make knives and tools, the drum makers and musicians, the potters, and here they made a beautiful baby hat with intricate metal ornaments. for hours before dumping her/ Why couldn't the police take the minimum step ofstopping and checking every car on the deserted night roads of Delhi? ~ How could these women have avoided rape; whose job is it to keep them safe? The nurse who was brutally raped in a Delhi hospital was not out on the streets; she was at work in a hospital. Another woman, a young 1nehandi painter, was raped recently on 1an tar Mantar lawns where she was sleeping at night? Can the Delhi Police and Delhi Govt answer: how was this woman supposed .
to avoid '·dark and lonely pluct.!!:>"'? Why arc there no safe shelters for poor \VOincn in the city?/\ 60-.
.
year old woman was also recently raped in the city: was she wearing "provocative" clothes? We also need to ask: \vhy do rapists feel so confident? Isn't it because the police and the courts indulge them? Why are so fe\V rapists caught and punished? We need to question the patriarchal prejudices which most of the police force and judiciary share with the bulk of society. .
Shame on the Judiciary Which Suggests the Victim Can Marry Her Rapist! .
Such a Marriage Is a "Life Sentence" for the Rape Victim! .
Recently, a brutal rapist, who had gouged out his victim's eye, proposed marriage to his victim in .
.
order to "wash offher stigma and re-establish her in society"! Why did the Judge in court entertain .
his proposal? Isn't it because, in the eyes ofmost ofour judiciary, the rapist's crime was not that he .
brutally assaulted his victim's body and dignity; but merely that he did so to a woman who did not .
.
legally ..belong'' to hi1n! .
The nurse, in her reply to her rapist's offer to marry her, asked how she could accept as her husband, the man who has ''handicapped my very sense ofbeing. more than my physical self' and termed the rnarriage offer as a "second rape", an attempt to ··further hu1niliate, insult and denigrate my dignity". Her spirit and clarity should shame the judiciary; it highlights the fact that our judiciary habitually vie·ws rape as a crime against patriarchalproperty, rather than as an assault on women's "sense of being". This case \Vas also a stark ren1indcr of the status of women within the ntarringc institution itself. A daughter is considered a father's property; marriage is a transfer ofthis property to the husband. A woman has no right to deny her husband the full use ofher body, which is his rightful property (recall that rape within marriage is yet to be recognised as a crime by our laws). Rape damages the father's property; so the rapist must either pay Hcompensation", or accept the "soiled goods'' himself. It is this ideology that underwrites ourjudiciary's attitude towards rape. .
This habit of associating rape with "violation of honour" betrays the unsaid notion that those .
. .
women who lack "honour" (read chastity), cannot by definition be raped: thus the infamous Supreme Court judgement in the 1980s Mathura rape case, which acquitted policemen ofcustodial rape on grounds that the victim was a "loose" woman, shares the same anti-woman ideology as the Shiv Sena. Far from emphasising that rape victims do not deserve social stigma, courts tend to accept that ifthe victim \vas a "good and honourable woman',, she must inevitably suffer social stigma. In a case in 1992, where a tribal gtrl was raped by two men, the 1-Iigh Court reduced the sentence for the rapists on the ground that the rape did not result in any "serious stigma" to the girl, ruling that the "sexual morals of the tribe to which the girl belonged are to be taken into consideration to assess the seriousness of the crilnc". In other words, less stigma itnplies less morals. and n1nrks the victim as ''cheap"; consequently her attacker too can be let offcheaply! .
In a situation where Courts and the police heap fresh humiliations on victims of rape, is it surprising that the women ofNagpur expressed their collective outrage by lynching the rapist in the courtroom? Bravo for the young nurse who defied judicial pressure to marry her rapist. Bravo ror the ~arge number ofwomen who spontaneously turned up in the Delhi courtroom to offer solidarity to the nurse, to assure her that she needed no redemptive "stamp of legitimacy" from her rapist. It is such acts ofindividual and collective courage by \Vomen \vhich redeem and assert women's sense ofselfand dignity. .

Radical Aspirations of the Working Class: Where Do CPI(M)-SFI REALLY Stand?.
.
"Now, we feel there were serious mistakes. It has sent wrong messages to every part in the country and in other countries..
Therefore, when we are changing, we tell out trade union leaders look we just cannot repeat our past mistakes... there.
should be harmonious relations between management and workers. Otherwise, we cannot advance." - West Bengal Chief.
Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, At the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) meeting in Kolkata on September 17, 2007.
.
"We are trying to change the mindset of workers. We need FDI, we need infrastructure." - Buddhadeb Bhattacharya.
.
Two days back, the streets of Delhi saw a massive demonstration of the working class at the call of several trade unions..
Soon after this, responding to a comment by an AISA activist on Facebook, SFI has chosen to hurl allegations against AISA and.
CPI(ML) Liberation through an unsigned poster. To begin with, one wonders why SFI would respond with such venom to a left.
activist's comment wishing that the working class should uphold a radical banner and radical agenda. Why did SFI assume that.
the statement was targeted at them? After all, there were other trade unions too (including INTUC, affiliated to the Congress).
in the rally, and the comment on Facebook did not mention any party. The reason is clear: the SFI-CPI(M) knows full well.
that it has betrayed the interests of the working class so many times that they get afraid at any reference to a "radical".
banner. The above quoted statements of their own chief minister shows what they really think and do. They themselves know.
too well that they do not subscribe to any radical agenda. This is the real reason for SFI's frenzied response to an innocuous.
Facebook comment. In contrast, note their stunning silence on the highly problematic Godhra verdict, which they obvi-.
ously think not important enough to comment upon!!.
.
This is not the first time the SFI has chosen to hurl baseless allegations against AISA just to hide its betrayal of the working.
class. In February 2005, there was another massive rally of trade unions in Delhi against the proposed Patents Bill which was.
to be tabled in the Parliament. The student community has not forgotten that just one month after this rally, the CPI(M),.
which was part of the UPA at that time, VOTED FOR the Patents Act in the Parliament!.
.
The very same CPI(M) who is today trying to fashion itself as the champions of the working class, also supported the SEZ.
Act in Parliament in Jan 2005. This SEZ Act essentially created "foreign territories" within India, where the laws of the land,.
including labour laws would not be applicable! Moreover, these self-proclaimed "champions" of the working class also.
brought in the SEZ Act in CPI(M)-ruled West Bengal in 2003, even before the Central SEZ Act. The JNU student community.
has also not forgotten that when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh visited JNU in 2005 (when CPI(M) was supporting the UPA),.
the SFI (along with NSUI and ABVP) actively opposed AISA and other organizations who showed black flags in protest.
against the Patents Act and the SEZ Act, against AFSPA and the Indian Army's rape and murder of Manorama Devi..
.
The very same CPI(M) ruthlessly and brutally used the entire state machinery in West Bengal to terrorize, rape and murder.
peasants agitating against corporate land-grab and land acquisition in Singur and Nandigram. The same CPI(M) has for years.
organized harmad vahinis - armed military campaigns against the working class - which are similar to the infamous Salwa.
Judum campaign in Chhattisgarh. Do the SFI-CPI(M) expect us to forget the massacres at Singur, Nandigram and Netai?.
Does the SFI seriously believe that the working class and the JNU student community will forgive and forget these.
organized massacres, and these betrayals of workers?.
.
To woo corporates and denigrate the working class, Kerala State industry minister Elamaram Karim proudly stated:.
.
"...Kerala's position [is] ...below the all-India average in the number of man-days lost as a result of strikes..
..Production loss caused by industrial action has come down drastically in Kerala. But the media often fail to reflect such.
positive changes. Nowhere else in India can you see such a concentration of skilled workers. Significantly, they.
receive very low wages, compared with their counterparts elsewhere. The wages of factory workers in Kerala is.
lower than the national average. ...in general, wages are low in Kerala". Interview with Kerala State industry minister.
quoted in Frontline, December 1st, 2006.
.
Is this shameful celebration of low wages and no workers' strikes an indicator of radical communist politics?.
.
The JNU student community is well aware that in JNU too, the SFI has a shameful history of betrayal of workers' rights..
During the movement for minimum wages and other workers' rights in JNU, the SFI to begin with claimed that students should.
have nothing to do with workers' rights. Wasn't it the same "pro-worker" SFI which voted in favour of a Proctorial Enquiry by.
the JNU administration against those protesting students who were demanding implementation of workers' rights in campus?.
.
Whether it is the open invitation to MNCs like Spencers, Reliance and Wal-Mart in the agro-retailing business or.
whether it is a recommendation to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to formulate the government's policy on.
land acquisition (both made by Buddhadeb Bhattacharya at a CII meeting in Kolkata on September 17, 2007), they have con-.
sistently showed their "class position"! Last October, at the peak of the CWG, when a protest was called just outside our.
own campus by some concerned students and some student organizations against the hoardings put up to "hide" the.
slums next door, the SFI chose to boycott this protest!.
.
The list of SFI-CPI(M)'s betrayals are too many to be quoted in a single leaflet. "Comrades": the real test of standing with the.
working class is to relentlessly champion their interests in ALL forums, be it on the streets, in the Parliament or through govern-.
ments which you run. And there, your (in)glorious credentials of opening a Nestle outlet in JNU while leading the JNUSU,.
inviting MetroCash and Walmart in Bengal, supporting and implementing the anti-worker SEZ Act in Bengal and sabotaging.
the workers' minimum wage struggle in JNU conclusively prove whose interests you are ACTUALLY championing..

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwired - Apr 2, 2013) - While most people probably fondly remember John Scherer as the demiurgic creator of the best-selling instructional DVD series, "Video Professor," they are soon to also recall his most recent entrepreneurial endeavor. Hurricane Canless Air System™ (www.canlessair.com) represents the ingenuity of efficiency merged with eco-sensitivity. This new undertaking by Scherer emblematizes his fine pursuit of the ingenious resolution to the echelon of problems that are fomented by the conventional canned aerosol products of the present day.
Canned air products contain a myriad of hazardous compounds that denigrate the delicate ecosystem, and that have countless associated side effects. Standard canned air products contain three lethal chemicals that act as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs): difluoroethane, trifluoroethane, and tetrafluoroethane. These chemicals are directly related to inhalant abuse because they cause a "temporary high" that often results in fatalities. Furthermore, such products are known to cause flash fires that can result in serious injury, and they often freeze-up with continuous use, commonly resulting in frost burns.
Hurricane Canless Air System™ presents a viable, ethical and environmental and budget-friendly solution:
Requires only a one-time purchase;
Quickly recharges when plugged in;
Uses natural air, emitted at hurricane force;
One-time investment; lifetime can-less air;
No harmful chemicals or greenhouse gases;
No freezing or frostbite;
No flash fire risks;
Environmentally friendly;
5,000 times more affordable than canned air;
Canless Air has developed a revolutionary antistatic unit that's safe for clean rooms.
"When I set out to create this product, I knew that I had to not only design something that was innovative and useful -- but that would also benefit mankind and our environment," explained Scherer. "When the realization hit me of the negative propensity of canned air products, and their detrimental environmental constraints, I knew that I could design a more affordable, efficient and environmentally friendly, natural air product."

Trump's stance on Taiwan could potentially be devastating for the US economy
July 18, 2024
♯ Former President Trump's remarks about Taiwan have raised uncertainty within the chip industry.
♯ Trump in a recent Bloomberg Businessweek interview said Taiwan should pay the US for its defense.
♯ Taiwan's semiconductor dominance could make a supply-chain disruption perilous for the US economy.
Former President Donald Trump during a recent interview with Bloomberg Businessweek waded into the US-Taiwan relationship head-on, suggesting he might upend the long-standing economic relationship between the two countries. Trump blamed Taiwan for taking the US chips business and said that Taiwan should pay the US for defense.
Trump's stance could also have major implications for Taiwan's dominance in semiconductor chip manufacturing should any potential conflict arise between Taiwan and China. Such a scenario would likely have a cataclysmic effect on the US economy should the global chip supply chain be disrupted.
Taiwan manufactures more than 60% of the world's semiconductors and produces about 92% of the globe's advanced semiconductors, according to Foreign Policy.
And Taiwan's microchip production is anchored by the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, or TSMC, a global powerhouse.
A study authorized by the US State Department found that any temporary halt to Taiwan's chip production from a Chinese blockade could result in roughly $2.5 trillion in annual losses globally, according to the Financial Times.
It's the sort of impact that would surely reverberate for years.
Trump said in the Bloomberg interview that Taiwan "took" America's microchip business and claimed that they had gotten rich by doing so.
"How stupid are we?" he asked the publication.
The ex-president's remarks are significant because the US has a vested interest in preserving strong ties in the Indo-Pacific region given the disproportionate impact that Taiwan has on the US economy.
Taiwanese chips are used in everything from cell phones and electric vehicles to microwaves and manufacturing equipment. This reality has made many US policymakers even more aware of Taiwan's huge role in America's economic vitality.
A recent report released by the Semiconductor Industry Association revealed that America's share of global chip manufacturing is set to increase to 14% by 2032. Currently, the US has a 10% share, reflective of years of manufacturing operations being sent offshore — which put the country at a competitive disadvantage.
But the US still faces an uncertain future regarding chip production should Trump sit in the White House again, as fears have risen of supply chain disruptions in a potential conflict involving Taiwan.
After Trump's latest remarks about Taiwan and the potential for tighter trade curbs on China, global chip stocks fell, with notable declines for Nvidia, TSMC, and Qualcomm, among others.

Trump Tells Taiwan to Expect a Higher Price Tag for U.S. Defense
Trump also accused Taiwan of sinking the U.S. semiconductor sector, signaling he wants a more transactional approach to shielding the island from China.
July 17, 2024
Donald J. Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, said that Taiwan should pay the United States for defending it from China, a remark highlighting the uncertainties — and high stakes — of how he might handle the smoldering Taiwan Strait dispute if he should win a second term.
Taiwan depends on political and military support from the United States to help resist pressure from Beijing, which claims the island as Chinese territory. Mr. Trump warned that Taiwan is perilously exposed to any attack from China and far away from U.S. protection, and signaled that he would take a more bluntly conditional approach to Taiwan.
“I think Taiwan should pay us for defense,” Mr. Trump said in an interview with Bloomberg Businessweek that published on Tuesday. “You know, we’re no different than an insurance company.”
Just as Mr. Trump’s denigration of NATO has rattled America’s allies, his comments on Taiwan raised the question of how invested a second Trump presidency would be in the island’s defense. The United States is committed by law to help Taiwan defend itself, and leaves open the possibility of sending forces if Beijing ever attacks the island.
Mr. Trump also took aim at Taiwan’s dominance in making advanced semiconductors, saying: “They did take about 100 percent of our chip business.”
The share price of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company — the world’s biggest maker of advanced computer chips — fell by 2.4 percent on the island’s stock exchange on Wednesday, apparently in reaction to his comments.
Although Mr. Trump has made similar comments about Taiwan in recent years, his latest may land in Taiwan with a bigger impact, given his strong position in the race against President Biden.
“If I was in Taiwan, I would take this statement seriously because it is not an isolated remark — there is now a pattern,” said David Sacks, a fellow for Asia studies at the Council on Foreign Relations. “This statement, in particular, epitomizes Trumpism because it reflects his purely transactional view of foreign policy.”
Taiwan already pays for nearly all of its weapons orders from U.S. manufacturers, though the Biden administration has moved to directly transfer some military equipment to Taiwan, drawing on U.S. stockpiles. Mr. Trump’s broader point seemed to be that Taiwan owed the United States more for its overall security.
Still, Mr. Trump’s comments should not be read as the final word on U.S. policies toward Beijing and Taiwan if he wins in November, Taiwanese experts said. A chorus of voices in Washington, including the Republican nominee for vice president, J.D. Vance, may influence his position, they said.
“During his presidency, he did not openly talk about abandonment of Taiwan,” said Alexander C. Huang, an international security expert who advises Taiwan’s opposition Nationalist Party, referring to Mr. Trump’s term, which ended in January 2021. “We also already understand that President Trump, if he returns to the White House, would ask Taiwan to bear more responsibility for our defense.”
Taiwan’s government has been increasing spending on its military, and in 2022 it began extending conscription from 4 months to 12 months. But many Taiwanese experts and officials say that their island will need to spend more to deter China’s much larger army.
The Trump and Biden administrations both expanded support for Taiwan while U.S. relations with President Xi Jinping in Beijing soured drastically over the past eight years. On Wednesday, China’s foreign ministry again denounced U.S. arms sales to Taiwan and said it would, in retaliation, suspend highly tentative nuclear arms control discussions with Washington.
Mr. Trump’s running mate, Mr. Vance, and other Republicans have argued that China remains the most pressing global challenge to the United States, and some say that protecting Taiwan should be a higher priority for Washington than backing Ukraine against Russia.
“I think that we should make it as hard as possible for China to take Taiwan in the first place,” Mr. Vance told The New York Times in an interview published last month. “We’re not doing that because we’re sending all the damn weapons to Ukraine and not Taiwan.”
Taiwanese officials have also vigorously courted bipartisan support in Congress. Taiwan’s supporters in the Republican Party could persuade Mr. Trump to be less skeptical of the island if he wins, said Raymond Chen-En Sung, the vice president of the Prospect Foundation, an institute affiliated with the Taiwanese government.
“The strategic competition between the U.S. and China is something for the whole national security circle around Mr. Trump,” he said. If Mr. Trump won a new term, Mr. Sung added, “I believe they will have the task of educating the president about the importance of Taiwan.”
Even so, Mr. Trump’s comments are likely to spur Taiwan to try to assure the United States — and Mr. Trump — that it is committed to completing semiconductor plants in Arizona and to spending more on its own military.
“We’re willing to shoulder more responsibility. This is us defending ourselves,” Taiwan’s premier, Cho Jung-tai, said in response to Mr. Trump’s remarks. “We’re very grateful” for U.S. support, he added.
Officials in Washington have long been concerned about the world’s reliance on Taiwan for advanced semiconductors, the tiny computer chips that power electronic devices from iPhones to fighter jets.
Over the past four years, TSMC has committed to building new factories in Japan, Germany and Arizona. In April, the Biden administration awarded Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, or TSMC, a $6.6 billion grant to try to bring cutting-edge chip making to the United States.
Mr. Trump suggested that was a raw deal.
“Now we’re giving them billions of dollars to build new chips in our country, and then they’re going to take that, too,” Mr. Trump said in the interview. He said that China’s leader, Mr. Xi, also coveted Taiwan’s semiconductor facilities. “That’s the apple of President Xi’s eye,” Mr. Trump said.
The notion that Taiwan had “taken” the United States semiconductor business was a misunderstanding, said Eric Huang, vice president at Digitimes, a tech industry market research firm based in Taiwan. Most of the world’s top semiconductor companies by market value are American firms like Nvidia and Qualcomm, Mr. Huang said.
“Taiwan plays a supporting role primarily by providing manufacturing services for these U.S. chip companies,” he said.

The History of Such Seasonal Formations: In 2012, the so-called 'Struggle Committee Against Lyngdoh, Brahminism, and Privatisation' was formed. They claimed to be staunchly opposed to elections under Lyngdoh. and yet themselves·participated.
in the March 2012 elections (which were conducted under modified LCR)I The leadership and cadres of DSU (which was one ofthe constituents of that forum, and claiming to boycott elections under LCR), were seen to be actively strateglzing and campaigningfor the candidates of this forum. The antipsychotic Thorazine presented as “modern” tool opposed to “primitive” African tools (represented by a Ekpo mask from Nigeria and a “konde” from Zaire) while also highlighting its special use in controlling “psychotic agitation.” The “compare and contrast” visual language attempts to display a progression, as if one method belongs to the primitive past, and the drugs belong to the present. The advertisers do not mention the “effectiveness” of either, nor explain the practical uses and combinations of the former. This is unnecessary in their eyes. They do not want the viewer to actually consider them as tools, but to immediately recognize them as “primitive” and foolish. This both bolsters their authority by encouraging an “automatic” recognition of their abilities and knowledge while also denigrating the contemporary methods of those who oppose them or provide alternatives.
