I only had time for a few shots and underestimated the shutter speed. I salvaged this from the way underexposed RAW file. I had to max out the brightness to get this - it was a lot darker than it looks in the image.
I still have problems painting away the layer mask on the sky without leaving some halos. Need to work on my technique.
Hiking 1.5 miles from the trail head, you're presented with a gorgeous and unobstructed view of the most famous arch in the national park. The snowy caps of the La Sal mountains can be seen in the background.
Wanted to get more stars in the shot, but the nearly-full moon had other plans. Ended up taking a wrong turn to the arch, so we lost a lot of 'star time' but someone showed us the way when the found us along the trail.
I had never been to the Arch so doing this hike at night for the first time, probably wasn't the best decision I've made in my adult life. Thanks to the cairns placed along the trail, we were able to make it!
By 1am I was tired, and this was the last shot I took before heading back down.

Delicate Arch in Arches National Park in Utah
We went on an early morning hike up to delicate Arch, it was nice seeing it with not too many people. It was a beautiful hike a great place to relax for awhile.
This was our last day before we headed back, later this day we played with snow in Colorado... in June.
Delicate Arch at Arches National Park in Moab, Utah is believed to be the single most photographed natural rock formation in the United States. Originally a sandstone fin, the whole was gradually weathered away leaving the current 52 foot arch that is seen on most Utah license plates.

A delicate spring flower (as ever, I've no idea what sort of flower it is). Text and texture applied in photoshop, the basic photo is pretty much as it came out of the camera.
This arch, probably the iconic attraction of the Arches National Park, is also seen on the license plates from Utah! Through the arch is a few hundred feet drop, and the winds were so crazy I almost flew without a glider!
Bigger is always better
Portrait picture of Delicate Arch in the Arches National Park. Unfortunately there had been a sand storm and this resulted in a sandy sky. Normally you would expect a blue sky.
A person is included to see the scale of the arch.
Picture is available for commercial release. Please contact me if you are interested.

Embracing the delicate allure of nature, she's my flower girl, blossoming in the intimate dance of petals and lace. 🌸🌺 #ShesMyFlowerGirl #FloralFantasy #LingerieElegance #NatureMeetsNurture #PetalPerfect
Of course one of many Delicate Arches shots. But this one was mine and it came with the experience and quitte a hike ;-)
I found this angle to be very nice due to the little peak that you can see in the centre of the arch.
Most wonderful spot and a wonder of nature if you would ask me...
The light and resulting colors in the late afternoon are almost surreal.
