This is a photograph of something that's been called a "dream drop". It's a piece of low-grade crystal cut, shaped, and polished to look like a drop of liquid. Beautiful to look at with light shining through, and very breakable, or delicate.

There's something sort of erotic about this shot. I suddenly feel like Georgia O'Keeffe.

The definitive must-do Southern Utah hike. It's not nearly as ominous as the NPS trail guide makes it sound (although I wouldn't want to do on a summer afternoon). Take water and go at a comfortable pace and you'll be fine.
ETRO SPRING SUMMER 2018 SHOW COLLECTION
The Tree of Life
Two halves of a whole unite to make way for Etro’s 2018 50th year as a fashion house and family company. Conceived in tandem by siblings Veronica and Kean Etro, together they present their first collection of both Women’s and Men’s for Spring/Summer 2018. Guided by the same impulses as their father and Etro founder, Gerolamo, whose early travels to India remain the source material for Etro’s colourful prints, this season’s offering is an interpretation of Indian folklore through Etro’s haute bohemian lens. The iconic Paisley print is believed to be a graphic rendering of the seed that springs forth the Tree of Life. From brilliant whites to kaleidoscopic rainbow, the collection unfolds like light through a prism.
The collection begins with white, a symbol of purity. Long cotton voile dresses as soft as silk have been printed with white pigment for an ethereal shadow of the iconic Etro pattern. Delicate lace, silk crêpe and weightless cotton are embellished with metallic thread and pearls on a series of dresses that explore shades of cream, ivory and taupe. Colours blossom slowly: hints of acid yellow and mustard are introduced in spare, delicate patterns on loosely rendered silk pyjama sets for both men and women. Etro’s classic flowing gowns in weightless, floral patterned cotton have been printed with lurex to shimmer with movement. As the collection gains momentum pigments become saturated: coral, salmon and tangerine precede deep violet, maroon and emerald green. A sumptuous swirl of visual psychedelia is found in ecstatically embellished blazers and smoking jackets for men in velvet and linen.

Perché anche quando si vorrebbe assestarli nel sedere di qualcuno, viene scrupolo che il bersaglio non meriti l'appoggio.
Perché, come le capre, amano il sale.
Perché non hanno fretta di nascere, però poi quando arriva il punto di morire scalciano in nome del corpo contro la morte.

Day two of my road trip across Utah- Took an evening hike up to Delicate Arch. Love love love this place! One of the more beautiful spots on the planet that I've been to. I like that there is a kid in the middle of the arch, as it gives more of a sense of the immense size of the arch. I'm so proud of myself for making it up there and then walking around the ridge to touch the arch as I'm terrified of heights!

The lady wearing silver calls but I don’t hear a thing
The Lady waits as I stand watching wild running wind
And spirits call as the rivers sing
The forest quiet and dark
I search the world without success
I try to find my markMagic is leaving, the world. It is an unpleasant sight
I fear what it has become but cannot find the light

I don't think there are many places that are shot more by photographers than Delicate Arch. But what can I say - everyone needs one, right? So this is my version. The skies weren't great that evening, but it could have been worse. At least there were a few whispy clouds in the sky behind the arch. This was taken just a few minutes before the sun vanished below the horizon.
I guess there's only a few weeks during the year when the entire front of the arch is lit by the setting sun. We just happened to be there then. The only problem was the shadows in front of the arch, but you can't have everything, right?

Delicate Arch in Arches National Park in Utah at sunset. It's about an hour hike to get to this point.
I really enjoy the fine, & delicate petals on these Bee Balm flowers.

After our exploration in the Fiery Furnace, we hoofed it up to Delicate Arch. We've been there a fair few times but not so often that it isn't still a treat. This time was not much different - a couple of new photo angles and different people posing under the arch but I still had to get the old standby photos because the autumn light was so bold and pretty.
This one is a must-take every time. Before reaching the overall viewpoint for Delicate, there's a small scramble up to Frame Arch which, true to it's name, frames Delicate perfectly. You can't see it from the trail and there's no sign but there's usually somebody up there making enough noise so you know where to look.
(tech: other than a little detail enhancement, this one's straight outta the camera. It was a good day for photos.)

Arches National Park - It was like coming home again. We used to visit frequently when it was day-trip distance, now we don't go often enough. The upside of that is that when we do, it looks new again. And very very good.

Forester is a elegant 24 strand kumihimo (japanese braiding)necklace, in 2 braids, in varying shades of green, using the 'Forest 2' colorway of 100% cotton fingering weight yarn by Wolles Yarn Creations.
It has been finished with silver plated end caps, sterling silver jump rings and a silver plated toggle clasp closure.
The center band has been handbeaded in the peyote stitch, using 6lb FireLine for strength and durability, with Delicas in Galvanized Metallic Dark Seafoam and Green/Rose/22kt Gold.
The pendant was handmade by Lisa Peters Art, featuring a delicate tracery of scrollwork in the palest of grey-green on black porcelain.
A portriat version of the traditional "Classic Shot" of Delicate Arch with the mountains behind it from across the bowl.
