Sunday's hike with friends to Delicate Arch, near Moab, Utah.

Kuura loves her delicate tea cup. Fenris prefers something more robust.

(ADAD 2015 October - 21: Delicate)

This dress is made from extremely delicate cotton, with hand dyed cotton french lace at the neck and arms, and cotton lace edging the bottom. The three bows at the neck and sleeves are made from silk ribbon and silk thread. The dress fits all 1:6 sizes pretty well.

This is actually my favorite of the dresses I made for this collection!

My neighbor two doors down the street saw me with my camera this morning and invited me in to her lovely garden for a photo opportunity. She doesn't recall the name of this poppy (another neighborhood gardener gave her seeds years ago) but it is certainly lovely! I've asked her to save some seeds for me this year so that I can try to get it started in my garden.

Normally, summer heat would have already ended the blooming cycle for this poppy... but all the rain and cooler weather we've had this spring has kept it still blooming. View large on black to fully appreciate the delicate petals.

Delicate like rain

Delicate like snow

Delicate like birds

Delicate just so

Delicate like air

Delicate like breeze

Delicate like you and me

A delicate advance

A delicate retreat

Delicately planned

Delicate like peace

Delicate like a touch

That's delicately brief

Delicate like you and me

Delicate like trinkets on her bracelet

(Like trinkets on her bracelet)

Delicate like a bracelet on your arm

(Like a bracelet on your arm)

Delicate like sweet arms around me

(Your sweet arms around me)

Delicate like me on top of you

Delicate like words

Delicate how time

So delicately runs

Then delicately dies

Delicate how eyes

So delicately breathe

Delicate like you my dear

Delicate like me my love

Delicate like you and

Delicate like me and

Delicate like

Delicate like you and me

So delicate hands and body!

The delicate flat cluster of tiny white flowers that make up a Queen Anne's Lace blossom.

Best viewed large. On Dogbane, the larval food plant. Didn't notice that much of it here -- but they found what there was! Think the female is the one facing downward; 23 mm long. Other one is 21 mm long.

Yangshuo.

Yangshuo’s West Street is a must-see attraction for visitors to Yangshuo. With a history of over 1,400 years and located in the center of the town, Yangshuo West Street is the busiest as well as the oldest street in the town; As China continues to open to the outside world, this little town attracts more and more foreigners with its unique mix of culture and, gradually, the street has become a center for cultural exchange between the east and west.

Completely covered with marble, the street resembles the letter ”s” with a length of 517 meters and a width of 8 meters. On each side of the street, cafes, bars, various restaurants, shops and hostel make this street an extremely prosperous and busy hub. Travelers can taste foods from various regions and countries and meet people from all over the world. Menus in the restaurants are written in several languages to make travelers from all feel at home. The food, accommodation and souvenirs are all sold at very reasonable prices and it is easy to find locals and travelers alike that that can speak fluent English. Some foreigners, attracted by the unique cultural flavor here, decided to settle.

Arches National Park - Moab, Utah 2013

1.5 mile hike from the Parking Lot

Tour of the Amazon Spheres with Sofi and Tim.

As I had described previously Delicate Arch was a circus later in the day and leading up to Sunset. The crowd made the evening seem like an event. It had a very festive type of atmosphere. There was nothing planned, just people enjoying life, the place we were experiencing and generally just happy to be there.

This shows kind of the "photographer's row" a little while before the sun headed to the horizon. once the sun reached that line, and the top half of the arch started it's glow, everyone packed along this line to get their shots.

When you approach Delicate from the main trail it leads you just to the left, and slightly behind, of this shot.

By far the most famous attraction in Arches National Park is Delicate Arch, its more or less symmetrical shape, and 18m freestanding formation making it a symbol of both the State of Utah and the American Southwest in general. Originally called "the Chaps" and "the Schoolmarm's Bloomers" by local cowboys, it was not officially discovered and given its current name until the 1933 Arches National Monument Scientific Expedition. Ironically it was not even included in park boundaries when Arches National Monument was first established by Pres Herbert Hoover in 1929. It was added when the monument was enlarged in 1938. In 2002 the Olympic Torch Relay passed through the arch.

While waiting for the sun to get lower in the sky I walked around a bit. For a lot of the time the sun was behind clouds, but peaked through just enough during this shot. We lucked out when the sun got to the horizon as we had a perfect glow at sunset.

This whole time people took turns getting shots standing under the arch.

Near sunset.

My first view of this arch was perhaps my favorite kind – taken completely by surprise. I was racing the sunset along the mile-or-so trail, while still taking in the red rock scenery. Up a narrow rock ledge, turn right, and wow! there it was, right in front of me. The last time I didn't sense it coming was at Iceberg Lake in Glacier Park, another story ...

After I hiked all day around Arches National Park, I decided to capture the sunset by Delicate Arch. It wasn't what I expected, but the experience still was nice.

My experiments with Macro ..I know i still need to learn :)
