Delicate Arch is a 65-foot (20 m) tall freestanding natural arch located in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah, United States.[1] It is the most widely-recognized landmark in Arches National Park and is depicted on Utah license plates and on a postage stamp commemorating Utah's centennial anniversary of statehood in 1996. The Olympic torch relay for the 2002 Winter Olympics passed through the arch.
The skies were overcast for the sunrise, did get a little lucky as the cloud began to disperse allowing a brief moment of the mornings light blush.
I will give this a rest now have posted a number at once, I know a surfeit of some of the same, but am back to work beginning tonight so do forgive me should I not get back to photostreams to catch up for a day or two...Have a great week...:))

Perché sono la parte più prigioniera di un corpo incarcerato. E chi esce dopo molti anni deve imparare di nuovo a camminare in linea retta.
Perché sanno saltare, e non è colpa loro se più in alto nello scheletro non ci sono ali.
Perché sanno piantarsi nel mezzo delle strade come muli e fare una siepe davanti al cancello di una fabbrica.
Perché sanno giocare con la palla e sanno nuotare.
Perché per qualche popolo pratico erano unità di misura.
Perché quelli di donna facevano friggere i versi di Pushkin.
Perché gli antichi li amavano e per prima cura di ospitalità li lavavano al viandante.
Perché sanno pregare dondolandosi davanti a un muro o ripiegati indietro da un inginocchiatoio.
Perché mai capirò come fanno a correre contando su un appoggio solo.
Perché sono allegri e sanno ballare il meraviglioso tango, il croccante tip-tap, la ruffiana tarantella.
Perché non sanno accusare e non impugnano armi.
Perché sono stati crocefissi.
Perché anche quando si vorrebbe assestarli nel sedere di qualcuno, viene scrupolo che il bersaglio non meriti l'appoggio.
Perché, come le capre, amano il sale.
Perché non hanno fretta di nascere, però poi quando arriva il punto di morire scalciano in nome del corpo contro la morte.

Day two of my road trip across Utah- Took an evening hike up to Delicate Arch. Love love love this place! One of the more beautiful spots on the planet that I've been to. I like that there is a kid in the middle of the arch, as it gives more of a sense of the immense size of the arch. I'm so proud of myself for making it up there and then walking around the ridge to touch the arch as I'm terrified of heights!

I don't think there are many places that are shot more by photographers than Delicate Arch. But what can I say - everyone needs one, right? So this is my version. The skies weren't great that evening, but it could have been worse. At least there were a few whispy clouds in the sky behind the arch. This was taken just a few minutes before the sun vanished below the horizon.
I guess there's only a few weeks during the year when the entire front of the arch is lit by the setting sun. We just happened to be there then. The only problem was the shadows in front of the arch, but you can't have everything, right?

Delicate Arch in Arches National Park in Utah at sunset. It's about an hour hike to get to this point.
I really enjoy the fine, & delicate petals on these Bee Balm flowers.

After our exploration in the Fiery Furnace, we hoofed it up to Delicate Arch. We've been there a fair few times but not so often that it isn't still a treat. This time was not much different - a couple of new photo angles and different people posing under the arch but I still had to get the old standby photos because the autumn light was so bold and pretty.
This one is a must-take every time. Before reaching the overall viewpoint for Delicate, there's a small scramble up to Frame Arch which, true to it's name, frames Delicate perfectly. You can't see it from the trail and there's no sign but there's usually somebody up there making enough noise so you know where to look.
(tech: other than a little detail enhancement, this one's straight outta the camera. It was a good day for photos.)

Arches National Park - It was like coming home again. We used to visit frequently when it was day-trip distance, now we don't go often enough. The upside of that is that when we do, it looks new again. And very very good.

Two more from the shoot with this beautiful young girl. Loved so many images from this shoot that the past few days i have been wondering which ones to post and which ones to leave out. You might see a couple more from this shoot which i may not be able to resist sharing with you! :)
I couldn't say that I'd lived in Australia for a year without having tried my hand at surfing so, about a month after I moved to the country, a group of new friends and I booked onto a weekend that took us six hours or so up the East Coast to this remote beach to give the sport a try.
We were just about the only other people that set foot on the amusingly named "Delicate Nobby Beach" that weekend and certainly the only ones insane enough to go in the water. But, when it looked this beautiful, us non-Australians were desperate to get into the brilliantly blue ocean, regardless of whether we were lucky enough to have nabbed a wetsuit or not.
Australia's coastline is encrusted with countless numbers of beautiful beaches and bays and strips of sand but this is definitely one that will stick in my mind after I leave here, due to both how deserted it was and how beautiful.
