I love the delicate seafoam green of the water. I desaturated the background landscape so it wouldn't distract. I also did an alternate all B&W version, which I will also upload. Hard to pick which I like better.

This same Hydrangea bush just keeps on giving me pleasure and beauty...
With the autumn winds and cold progressing, it won't be long before these flowers fade and succumb to the inevitable grip of winter... To everything there is a season...
I am a delicate flowers
Affected by tumultuous winds
Ripping through the landscape of my heart
Tearing up beliefs and habits
Leaving me wilted and haggard
Aching for death -
To begin again
From the falling of my seed

It's a 1.5 mile hike to Delicate Arch - I highly recommend it. On this day the sun illuminated the arch for about 3 mins before disappearing. What an awesome experience. 6 vertical shotes with a 50mm Ziess at F8.
the crowd that gathers to view delicate arch is almost as interesing as the arch. delicate arch. arches national park. moab.utah
Went out today for a walk in the sunshine. I discovered my memory card only holds 8 photos! Tomorow I have to get a new memory card!!!! HBWE!
A flower's appeal is in its contradictions - so delicate in form yet strong in fragrance, so small in size yet big in beauty, so short in life yet long on effect.

DOLLS IN LINE: Angel Cake; Butter Cookie; Cherry Cuddler; Lime Chiffon; Sour Grapes
MISSING ITEMS: Dregs Snake
PERSONAL FUN FACT: It's a little disappointing that my Sour Grapes doll did not come with her pet snake. But that being said, I'd rather her be wearing her outfit than be nude with a pet. This outfit is super cute and colorful. I love how Strawberry Shortcake dolls' clothes take literal inspiration from their names. The grape print on my doll's dress is still very vibrant, and it compliments her molded grape earrings flawlessly. The hemline is coming undone a little bit, which means I may need to repair it in the future. However, the delicate sheer straps of this dress are still in excellent shape. They show no signs of picking and have no holes! The styling and print of this dress remind me of something that one of my Disney Megara dolls should wear--I love its unintentional Grecian vibes!
I love this lacy flower - it is about 5 feet tall, with a very lacy green bush. Does anyone know what this is? I love it!

Taken at the Denver Botanical Gardens on Fri......Today, two friends are engaged in life altering dramas. One gives birth to their second child...the other struggles to survive as a random exposure to a staff infection ravages his body.
As strong and invincible as we might want to believe ourselves to be....the reality is we walk a fine wire.....a delicate balance. One friend is struggling to bring life into this world, the other is struggling to remain in this world. I realize this is only two cases of what is being repeated millions of times over across this globe this Jan. 15th. But out of those millions these are two people that mean something to me....so I honor them here.....with all the joy and courage....hope and faith I have to offer these two lives.
Sony A1, Voigtlander 65mm f/2 APO
Taken at Delicate Arch, Arches National Park outside Moab, Utah
Caught in morning light. For lens choice, 50mm to 65mm on a full-frame camera is pretty good. It lends itself to a straight landscape shot or pano. I took wider shots with the Voigtlander 35/2 APO, tight panos with my Voigtlander 180/4 APO (135mm may have been a little better), and a few up close with my Sigma 14-24. Bring a light tripod because the hike is vigorous.
April is a good time to visit. The background mountains have snow, which is nice. It was really cold at the parking lot, but I was sweaty at the top. It helps to hike in the dark to avoid the crowds. By 9am, this place is a zoo.
Risking to say the obvious, geological processes can create fascinating structures. Waiting for the best light also allowed interesting insights into the psychology of fellow photographers. When other visitors dared to stand within the arch, potentially impacting the planned images, synchronous shouting and swearing rose from the numerous tripods set up opposite the arch.
Spring is a wonderful time of year, a new beginning, rebirth, kind-of-a ‘do-over’ with the warmth and rain shower, flowers and trees begin to show their yearly beauty with their blooms. 3/20/2011
One of the paths I follow was overgrown with cow parsley - it smelled heavenly in the sunshine and is so delicate compared to hogweed heads. Had a play with the camera and this is one of the results. Please see Summer studies set flic.kr/s/aHsjG1izeg
