One of the paths I follow was overgrown with cow parsley - it smelled heavenly in the sunshine and is so delicate compared to hogweed heads. Had a play with the camera and this is one of the results. Please see Summer studies set flic.kr/s/aHsjG1izeg

This is similar to the poinsettia I shared a couple days ago, also from Hewitt's Garden Center in Clifton Park, New York, USA. I just love the pink poinsettias!

Taken at the Denver Botanical Gardens on Fri......Today, two friends are engaged in life altering dramas. One gives birth to their second child...the other struggles to survive as a random exposure to a staff infection ravages his body.
As strong and invincible as we might want to believe ourselves to be....the reality is we walk a fine wire.....a delicate balance. One friend is struggling to bring life into this world, the other is struggling to remain in this world. I realize this is only two cases of what is being repeated millions of times over across this globe this Jan. 15th. But out of those millions these are two people that mean something to me....so I honor them here.....with all the joy and courage....hope and faith I have to offer these two lives.

I was in the mood to post something, so since I recently had a massive external drive crash, figured I'd look & see what I had lurking on my desktop that was ready to go. There's all kinds of stuff on here thankfully. I don't know how may files have been retrieved yet, most likely not nearly enough, which is why I am thankful for whatever files I have saved in other places. To all you PAC wise asses out there, yes, I learned my lesson... I do have some of my stuff backed up, just not as much as I should! I currently have no heat in my house, so this is kinda how I feel right now hahah... View On Black

Well, I really didn't know what to expect at our local "Civil War Days" since I had never been. There were events all over town ranging from Civil War arms demonstrations to candle making to fashion shows. I started my day at the Oaks encampment where I learned about signaling with flags, small fire arms, sabers, and the history of the bugle. Anyway, after a few hours in the Oaks Camp, I wandered over to the David Davis Mansion camp where the fashion show was taking place. I am by no means into fashion, (anybody who knows me personally can attest to that) but I loved this show. The women were escorted to the runway (really just a nice shady spot under the tent) by men in Civil War uniforms (Union Army). The dresses were beautiful and the setting was just fantastic as the women wandered the grounds of the mansion after the show. It really made me think I was picked up and dropped into the 1850's. Anyway, this young woman was posing for her friends in front of the mansion and just as I snapped the picture, she happened to throw her head back with a delicate laugh and I just loved the moment.

I have no idea what kind of flower these are but they were found in the forested areas near Spruce Bog at Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada. I loved the delicate flowers and how tiny they were. It was like finding a little gem stone on my walk. via 500px ift.tt/2wv98oK

Delicate Arch
Arches National Park, Utah, USA
I had driven about 1000 miles from Kansas City to Moab in one day. My intent was to get some dusk and/or star shots of delicate arch, but I got in late, and I was not feeling well, so I did not get any shots that evening. I got up early the next morning (still not feeling well) and slogged up the 'trail' to delicate arch. While not as impressive as other shots I've seen, I'm glad I made the effort to get up early for the morning light.

In these times it’s often hard for us to bloom as we would normally in the outside world, a lot of our time is now spent overthinking, worrying and framing of how the world we used to live in and the ways we used to live out our lifestyles - and this is definitely something I’ve been thinking about constantly... But actually when you get down to the really deep way of thinking about it - like plants, we can grow slowly, tenderly and with delicate love and self care in darkness and dark times and also through hard times too.
I battle and Flicker between being on top of everything and feeling pristine to being trapped in a never ending guilt loop and wanting to just be a raggedy mess in my pjs - but something I keep living these never ending repetitive days by is no matter what I feel and how I spend my day - I will still grow - and come out of this taller, stronger and things will be alright in the end.

As You all should know; today is an important day for the moon and mercury. Donna and I have been to Delicate several times for the full moon, and love it. She suggested we go, and it also has the significance of our first weekend out together in over 1/2 year. (Please pay attention.) Well, the visibility was not primo, but Donna did make it up and back in fine form, in not so good conditions. So we celebrated that.

I wanted to start this year off by saying Thank You so very, very much to you all, my friends; I know I have been very busy these last 6 months and not able to visit your photostreams as often as I would like to, but it truly means the world to me that you have all continued to support and encourage me and my work. You are all amazing friends and you make my smile every day with your kind comments on my photos!
That being said, I swear to you all I will make more time to visit your wonderful photos and leave my feedback on them, after all, it is only fair!
