University of Washington

The UW campus was decorated with a generous, colorful array of flowers, including the clusters of the Washington state flower, the Pacific rhododendron. They were delicately translucent, more so than their East Coast cousins that are more hardy. Perhaps that was just a testimony to the PNW’s beautifully mild climate.

Love is the greatest healing power I know. Love can heal even the deepest and most painful memories because love brings the light of understanding to the darkest corners of our hearts and minds....."~ Louise L. Hay

Life is beautiful and wonderful and delicate, like this bubble.

Shot while spending the day at the lake with my children and friends. We took turns playing in the wind.

Arches National Park, Utah

I came home with flowers in my hand for my girlfriend. No reason at all, just thought it would be nice to surprise her with a bouquet. After a while I noticed this young petal or leaf, so I started playing with my macro Lens again.

I think it came out well .. just like the dof of it, that’s why I called it delicate.

Just got back from a wee long trip to the National Parks in Utah, and was able to exercise my new Canon 5D Mark 3.

One of my main goals was to hike to Delicate Arch and catch the sunset, and I think it worked out pretty well.

The clouds muted the suns rays a little but it was worth it.

The three mile hike in 90 degree heat was a chore, but the reward was some memorable pictures.

Thanks for looking!

These feathers are so fine and delicate...however they are are the feathers from the emu! Amazing that such a large bird has such delicate feathers. Reminds me of the verse in Psalms 91 - "He shall cover thee with His feathers..."

Edward Paul Abbey (January 29, 1927 – March 14, 1989) was an American author and essayist noted for his advocacy of environmental issues, criticism of public land policies, and anarchist political views. His best-known works include the novel The Monkey Wrench Gang, which has been cited as an inspiration by environmental groups, and the non-fiction work Desert Solitaire.

I want to read some of Mr. Abbey's books.

In 1956 and 1957, Abbey worked as a seasonal ranger for the United States National Park Service at Arches National Monument (now a national park), near the town of Moab, Utah. Abbey held the position from April to September each year, during which time he maintained trails, greeted visitors, and collected campground fees. He lived in a house trailer that had been provided to him by the Park Service, as well as in a ramada that he built himself. During his stay at Arches, Abbey accumulated a large volume of notes and sketches which later formed the basis of his first non-fiction work, Desert Solitaire.

Getting a Photo without a thousand people in it, was more than just a challenge.

Arches National Park

One from the archives. I was dreaming of warmer weather today.

Note the thunderstorm rolling in on the right. I got rained on before I made it back to my Jeep.

Taken in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah

Moab, UT vacation adventure with RZR and Cayenne off roaring, hiking and searching for petroglyphs. Magnificent views, rock formations, and canyons. Some of the walls were 2000' from floor to top. We spent time in Arches National Park, Canyon Lands, White Rim Trail, Fins and Things trail, and BLM land. Even a flat tire 20 miles in on a off road didn't ruin our fun.
