Taken at the Denver Botanical Gardens on Fri......Today, two friends are engaged in life altering dramas. One gives birth to their second child...the other struggles to survive as a random exposure to a staff infection ravages his body.
As strong and invincible as we might want to believe ourselves to be....the reality is we walk a fine wire.....a delicate balance. One friend is struggling to bring life into this world, the other is struggling to remain in this world. I realize this is only two cases of what is being repeated millions of times over across this globe this Jan. 15th. But out of those millions these are two people that mean something to me....so I honor them here.....with all the joy and courage....hope and faith I have to offer these two lives.

These formations are in Entrada Sandstone, which was deposited during the Jurassic period, between 180 and 140 million years ago. At that time, the supercontinent Pangea was just breaking up, with Gondwana in the south separating from North America.

Oxalis Triangularis Flower, shot with a Canon 5D and Tamron 35-70mm FD. Converted to mono with a Purple tint.
One of the paths I follow was overgrown with cow parsley - it smelled heavenly in the sunshine and is so delicate compared to hogweed heads. Had a play with the camera and this is one of the results. Please see Summer studies set flic.kr/s/aHsjG1izeg

Sony A1, Voigtlander 65mm f/2 APO
Taken at Delicate Arch, Arches National Park outside Moab, Utah
Caught in morning light. For lens choice, 50mm to 65mm on a full-frame camera is pretty good. It lends itself to a straight landscape shot or pano. I took wider shots with the Voigtlander 35/2 APO, tight panos with my Voigtlander 180/4 APO (135mm may have been a little better), and a few up close with my Sigma 14-24. Bring a light tripod because the hike is vigorous.
April is a good time to visit. The background mountains have snow, which is nice. It was really cold at the parking lot, but I was sweaty at the top. It helps to hike in the dark to avoid the crowds. By 9am, this place is a zoo.

her body appears delicate, yet it is sturdy and strong... I love her torso...the breasts, ribs and stomach are beautiful ♥
*I was going to open up a new flickr just for her but I like it here... I will delete the new one.

Delicate Arch is a 52 feet (~16m) tall freestanding natural arch located in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah.
''Arches National Park preserves over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, like the world-famous Delicate Arch, as well as many other unusual rock formations. The extraordinary features of the park create a landscape of contrasting colors, landforms and textures that is unlike any other in the world''
On my first trip in USA, with a friend we were doing some agricultural work in a peache farm somewhere in Colorado. The owners were kind enough to share an old 4wheel toyota so we had the chance to take a Sunday trip right to Utah.
After a quick stop trough Moab, we went straight to Arches NP. There we decided to take a walk to Delicate Arche not knowing what awaits us. After a hike that felt like ages, we arrived at a small path that run along a cliff and to our right: a big wall. I saw a hole in that wall and I finally climb trough it.
After some efforts, I took step on a small cove with an astoning view of the place you are about to see in the attached picture. Silenced by the marvellous scene, I hadn’t noticed that I wasn’t alone. Sitting close to me was somekind of hippie dude smoking pot. He stared at me, smiled and asked “Wanna join me?”. So I just sat there, watched the sunset go down and smoke with this weird-unknow guy.
From that moment, I decided I would always come to this place if the possibility was offered to me. So there I’m, I’ve been in USA 5 times since and everytime I’ve been able (3 on 5), I’ve found myself looking at this same wonderfull view.
Anyway, long story short: If you ever planned, sooner or latter, to travel to USA… make damn sure you don’t miss this place!
This picture was taken on my 4th trip during the summer of 2010.
“...A delicate advance
A delicate retreat
Delicately planned
Delicate like peace
Delicate like a touch
That's delicately brief
Delicate like you and me...”
(From “Delicate” by Terence Trent d’Arby (Sananda Maitreya))
At sunrise this lady came along the Ganges in Varanasi (Benaras) where she stepped down into the holy waters in a subtle way as delicate as the colours she was wearing...

I miss this lady dearly, Minneapolis is a far stretch from Connecticut. Maybe I can one day convince her to make the big move to New York with us. One day!

I had driven about 1000 miles from Kansas City to Moab in one day. My intent was to get some dusk and/or star shots of delicate arch, but I got in late, and I was not feeling well, so I did not get any shots that evening. I got up early the next morning (still not feeling well) and slogged up the 'trail' to delicate arch. While not as impressive as other shots I've seen, I'm glad I made the effort to get up early for the morning light.

Butterfly! Oh! Butterfly…
Tell me something…
Where do you come from
with such vibrant colours on your wings?
Who has made you?
Who created you?
Must have been your lover
to give you such glorious hues.
He made you so soft.
He made you so light.
So breathtakingly beautiful
in your gentle flight.
You go fluttering by
from flower to flower.
To drink in their nectars,
who gave you that power?
Your flight is a delight to watch
and it has captured many a heart.
It makes one hold their breaths,
who is the one, who, your journey does chart?
Butterfly came and landed on my palm.
And whispered in my ears.
I have been made by the One, the only One.
I have been created by your creator, dear.
I am no one special. I am just like thee.
You behold me and see my magnificence.
But forget to see what’s within you.
The brilliance inside you is so much more intense.
There is magic and exquisiteness in each
and every of his creation.
Everyone is perfect because he shaped them
as His own self’s manifestation.
