“I searched among her crayons for a color that represented autumn and pulled out an orange-toned crayon, never used. It read “Bittersweet,” and I wondered why that particular name. Autumn was my favorite time of year… I was always ready for the change. I guess some people didn’t see it that way. Some people wanted to cling to summer... I loved both seasons, but I thought no one would ever call spring bittersweet, even though it was just another change, another new cycle, an end to one season and a beginning for another in an endless, never-ending spiral.”

This is at Arches National Park. This huge arch is also know by such names as Dutchman's pants, which seems more descriptive to me. If you look carefully you can see tiny people on the left. There was a good sized canyon between me and the arch.

Looking through Delicate Arch toward the snow-covered La Sal Mountains is one of the best views in Arches National Park. The contrast of red rock and winter white makes this view unforgettable.

Next year I will definitely go for the overview of the tulip fields. This year I lost myself in details and close ups. I specially loved this field. Very soft pink colored tulips which almost looked like tea roses. Always happy to see one unwanted guest sticking his head above the field.
When you make the long uphill hike to Delicate Arch, it's out of sight for 45 minutes at least. But I spotted a hole in the rock wall high overhead and managed to scrabble up to get a preview and these two shots.
When I eventually got to the arch, the woman in these photos was still standing under the rock formation.
Delicate Arch is the best-known feature in Utah's Arches National Park.
