🎶 GAVIN LUKE - DELICATE TRANSITIONS 🎶
“I searched among her crayons for a color that represented autumn and pulled out an orange-toned crayon, never used. It read “Bittersweet,” and I wondered why that particular name. Autumn was my favorite time of year… I was always ready for the change. I guess some people didn’t see it that way. Some people wanted to cling to summer... I loved both seasons, but I thought no one would ever call spring bittersweet, even though it was just another change, another new cycle, an end to one season and a beginning for another in an endless, never-ending spiral.”
― Janet Rebhan, Finding Tranquility Base
A strand of ice on a single line of silk , so fragile i couldn't believe my eyes .One breath of wind and it would have gone .
This is at Arches National Park. This huge arch is also know by such names as Dutchman's pants, which seems more descriptive to me. If you look carefully you can see tiny people on the left. There was a good sized canyon between me and the arch.
Be gentle with yourself, for the human soul can be as delicate as the soft petals that graces the flower...
When you make the long uphill hike to Delicate Arch, it's out of sight for 45 minutes at least. But I spotted a hole in the rock wall high overhead and managed to scrabble up to get a preview and these two shots.
When I eventually got to the arch, the woman in these photos was still standing under the rock formation.
Delicate Arch is the best-known feature in Utah's Arches National Park.

Sixty foot tall Delicate Arch is the most famous arch in Arches National Park. It is on the Utah license plate and has been the subject of innumerable photos. I happened to snap this shot when there was only one person in the frame to clone out. At the time, there were well over 100 people in the immediate area. Many were lined up taking turns getting their selfie under the arch.
I have been inspired to use textures again ever since seeing an exhibit of a photographer who uses textures on his southwest landscapes. So I used a shot of sandstone patterns as a texture here.
Happy Textural Tuesday!

Lighted up by the gentle warmth of the morning sun filtering through the fragile petals.
Where there is shadow, there is also light.
May we all find zest and light in the small moments of our everyday lives.

"A new idea is delicate. It can be killed by a sneer or a yawn; it can be stabbed to death by a joke or worried to death by a frown on the right person's brow."
