Defiant Lily. She will dig a hole when ever or where ever she wants. She could care less that I'm right in front of her.

Every so often Tiva goes into naughty mode. Here she is refusing to give the ball up. She will sit when you ask but as soon as you go to take the ball she gives a defiant woof and bounces out of reach.

with cloud's rest in the distance, this tree has seen quite a few changes in it's time. Even the nearby passing of Tioga road seems a like a temporary thing.

Shot early this year falling from a small water bag.

Takes a while to set up and messy but worth it i think.

A moody shot taken from 'The Gate' on Mam Tor. Low cloud and mist coupled with the early morning sun and the rain laden storm clouds moving across made for some great shooting conditions. In the distance is the famous lone tree of Back Tor sandwiched inbetween Hollins Cross and Lose Hill.

Thanks for looking.

With the NMT currently out of service at Derby Network Rail/Colas have called upon DRS to operate 100mph loco hauled test trains for cover.

With the weather looking to be sunny on Anglesey I decided to lug my DSLR with me for the day.

The defiant Westie is fearless in challenging the headless horseman on Halloween night.

Prompt: Ultra-realistic digital fine art in vertical aspect ratio. A dramatic Halloween night scene in a moon lit, eerie forest with twisted, barren trees. The Headless Horseman rides a powerful black steed with red glowing eyes, galloping through the mist. In his hand, he holds a fiery, glowing jack-o’-lantern, its carved grin blazing with orange light. Around them, dozens of sinister jack-o’-lanterns line the ground, casting flickering light across the forest floor. Beside the horse, a lively white West Highland Terrier is barking in defiance and fearlessly at the Headless Horseman, illuminated by the glow of the pumpkins. Westie back to the viewer. The atmosphere is haunting yet dynamic, filled with motion, shadows, and an ominous Halloween energy. Style: Ultra-realistic digital fine art, cinematic fantasy

Mule Deer (Odocoileus hemionus). Socorro County, New Mexico.

I like an image that tells a story, especially one that requires the viewer spend some time examining it to tease the story out, or form their own story based on their interpretation of what is being depicted.

To me, this image shows a powerful mule deer buck, standing defiant in the face of some perceived threat. As the does of his harem retreat, he stands guard ensuring they escape to safety. Admittedly, this may be a personification of what really happens in these types of situations. But then again, maybe it isn't. Others viewing this image may not see the same thing, and that's ok. Photography is art, and art is subjective.

Happy 2022, I hope it brings good things to all of you and your loved ones!

Do you see Vulnerability or Defiance?

Today is officially something different Friday? :-) So something different from me. I would like to do more shots like these but if I'm honest I found "the body" quite hard a subject to shoot. It belongs together with my other image "Victim or Predator". I hope you like it.

And TFI Friday :-)
