Deception Pass Bridge, connecting Whidbey Island to Fidalgo Island, is a popular spot for photographers looking to capture the beauty of the Puget Sound. It's one of my favorite spots to visit in the Pacific Northwest.
I was so excited about going to Deception Pass on the way back to Seattle from Anacortes! This was the first trip I had made there since being bit by the shutterbug and I was looking forward to photographing it.
As we arrived, the winter storm we had just left in the san Juans moved in. Before I had a chance to get the shots I really wanted, snow and sleet began to fall pretty heavily. Fearing what the moisture might do to my camera, I packed up my gear and headed back to the truck.
A bit of a disappointment, but there will be other chances to visit.

Deception Pass is a strait separating Whidbey Island from Fidalgo Island, in the northwest part of the U.S. state of Washington. It connects Skagit Bay, part of Puget Sound, with the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Yesterday, Jill and I drove up to Deception Pass. We found a trail that had nobody on it and gave us an amazing view of the bridge. The current under the bridge was like nothing we have ever seen.

I live on Fidalgo Island in the Pacific NW, with two bridges that connect us to the mainland, and one, Deception Pass Bridge, that connects us to Whidbey Island.
