This was meant for yesterday's Ttremendous Tuesday, but I just didn't get to it. But it's just as good for today - December solstice - my hubby's favorite day. Well, I guess his favorite must actually be tomorrow when the days get longer. I am a lover of winter, but sure wish our driveway was smaller!
I had an older version of this with colors I liked more, but that image looked "muddy" so I re-did it. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the color I had before - it was a Pixlr effect that is no longer available - but this is close enough and I guess I prefer a cleaner image to specific tones. I still miss the old Pixlr -sigh. :-)

I photographed the roses on December 15 in the park, the snow fell and after 3 days it melted, at night the frost was -6 Celsius, the roses appeared as in the photographs
The Rose Garden at the Huntington Library is still doing well.
This beautiful rose is appropriately called "TUSCAN SUN" - it certainly warmed my heart this December.

The east pier on a clear, and calm evening. The bandstand looking festive for the season while the lights of Howth can be seen in the distance...;-)
A frosty december morning. Once again, it was worth, to getting up early! Anyway i hoped to see a sea of fog. But the fog was behind me :)
I made this panoramic photo with my new Nikkor 70-300.

Maybe one of these days I'll get around to actually decorating my Christmas tree, but for now, the ornaments sit nicely in a box beside the tree and make for a quick and easy photo of the day.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

A little different view of one of my favorite houses, I love the old clothes line out in the front yard. Towner Co. ND
Well, it seems that the squirrels and the pigeons have found themselves with some competition for the feeders in the yard. The wild turkeys were back today and made fast work of clearing out the food.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

A calm and peaceful December evening, before the atmospheric river of rain and wind set in. The shadows were lifted with a 3 shot HDR in Lr.
Wishing all of our amazing flickr friends a fantastic and creative 2024! ❤️

December moon setting over the city on the 27th. The haze and pollution amplify the early dawn light just before sunrise. The artist helped to bring it out as much as reasonable ;)
Hope you like it, how do you think?

Fyero was a bit on the cranky side today, but that didn't stop me from annoying her with my camera.
Luckily, her mood seems to have picked up since I spoiled her with some new wet food this afternoon.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.
