A no show sunrise between Christmas and New Year, and despite the promising forecast, this was as much of a glimpse of the sun as I got!!
December scene from North Interstate 15 taken a couple of years ago. An old barn in a farm from a distance and part of the Wasatch Mountain range.
This is 1 of 5 December Moths attracted to the garden moth trap on 17 November. One of the very last moth species I see each year in the garden, and clearly adapted to fly and survive in cold weather!

I know this looks like a summer shot but it was taken today (Christmas day) and the temp was close to freezing! I picked the daisies and placed them on a mossy rock and shot into the sunset.
The sun quickly sinks toward the horizon in Wisconsin during December. Sunset would be at 4:22 PM on this day after Christmas, just 2 minutes longer than the shortest day of the year.
The thaw had modestly begun--at least it was not so cold that I had to leave my camera inside. I do like shadows on the snow.

Scott and I were doing some test shots before a family photo session later in the day, I thought this one was a bit amusing so I figured it would be a great choice for my photo of the day.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

Benni and I went to Roger's Gardens yesterday morning to get photos for a Christmas card. Poor Benni had to wear an elf suit for part of time but she's a good sport and I did get a few photos of her which I'll share later.
This photo is from one of the three rooms full of decorated Christmas trees where you can buy the ornaments right from the trees. Early visits are better!
Kerri made me do this - Daily Puppy recycled Benni's, 5 years ago, puppy posting today. It shows baby Benni. www.dailypuppy.com/puppies/benni-the-labradoodle_2015-12-01
