It was a calm and silent morning over the bay. The sun started to come up and the sky completely opened up and I got this gift of a sky to get lost in.
It was a bit cold this morning but it's already december, this year went by like an express train.
The sky was wonderful, I waited for the sun for maybe 45 minutes and when it was up, the colorfull moment was only a few minutes.
Welcome to the month of December, a beautiful time of cold weather and holidays, family and winding down for the year, and dark quiet stillness with late dawns and early evenings.
My latest project, "December Nights" (2015), will be presented on Thursday October 1st, as part of the "Young Greek Photographers" exhibition of Kythera Photographic Encounters 2015.
Cleaning up my processed but unpublished images from the year. My first "December Dump" to start 2023 with all new stuff.
Fog
We don't often get a fog here, even in the cooler months.
This morning it was very thick. A quick phone shot (that doesn't really do justice to the thickness of the fog) looking along our street to the bend further along ( about 110 metres). I really should have got the camera out!

The high tide was not high enough to come over the breakwater this morning, but was quite a nice sky. Very cold and quite windy this morning.

The first day of December and the beginning of Meteorological Winter. Our days, here in the Northern Hemisphere, will continue to get shorter for 22 more days. And then we begin the path back to more light...!

И, при виде такой красоты возникает какое-то предновогоднее настроение… :)
Весь вечер, всю ночь, и сейчас тоже клубится такая шикарная искрящаяся непрекращающаяся пургаааа…
И, весь город засыпан снегом.
Пешеходы бредут в снегу – чуть ли не по колено. И машины по дворам – безнадёжно буксуют, это далеко слышно…
Но, если смотреть на эту зимнюю красоту из тепла, из-за стекла, и с большой кружкой кофе, то, это очень даже романтично… :)
