This is the true historical heart of the city and on the left is the Nikolaikirche the oldest church in Berlin. However, to say it is the true historical heart might be misleading as the church has been rebuilt and restored after the war while many of the buildings have been moved to this quarter and rebuilt to give the district an historical atmosphere. But is this historical pastiche 'wrong'.
