Oh, Christmas. A difficult topic. Even though I'm not a religious person, is contemplation, gratitude and thinking of others for me one of the most important things at this time, which I never associate only with happy and merry. And to be honest: being happy, is almost impossible at the moment. Therefore is my photo not the typical Christmas image.

Ce jours-là, il a neigé tout le jour et toute la nuit sans répit. Le monde était blanc et par endroit, il était impossible de distinguer le ciel de la terre. C'était une journée de poésie et de beauté. D'une beauté singulière que l'on serait capable de contempler des heures durant derrière sa fenêtre laissant ainsi nos pensées se rouler dans ce blanc manteau réconfortant.

It has been a year like no other. I am hoping for a bit more sanity and less anxiety in 2021. The last full moon of 2020, struggling to be visible behind thick menacing black clouds, seemed to reflect my feelings about the past year -- abnormal and threatening. Here is to looking forward to nights of clear bright moons and an equally bright upcoming year.

I saw the colors when I was outside. I was only a few minutes from my house. I walked faster, almost ran. I didn't bother to take my coat off when I got in. Rather, I headed straight for the terrace and went outside. At least I was properly dressed.

This was shot from a terrace in Astoria. The nearest buildings are in Astoria.

Essentially, this is straight from the camera. I didn't alter the image in any way. It was a gorgeous sunset.
